So I was hand washing my car this weekend..
And I noticed on 2 of my rims, that the paint is bubbling around the mazda logo in the center of the rim.
Is this still covered under warranty? I have 56K on my car.
I remember with my old 2004 Mazda 3 GT, I had a similar problem and I noticed it when I had around 45K on my car. At the time I was going to Westtown mazda and service manager replaced 3 of my 4 rims free of charge.
I have a feeling these won't be covered due to the mileage on the car.

I just got off the phone with the service dept at Direct Mazda and they said to bring the car up and they'd have a look
I was also told the rims fall under the 80K coverage/warranty or 3 years.
Sucks I'm going on vacation tomorrow..so I wont have a chance to bring the car in until next week.
I'll keep everyone posted as to what happens.. but sounds like there could be a chance for them to replace them.. but we shall see.

I don't get why people powercoat stock rims, powercoating cost money (I was told 200 per rim), I would rather buy a new set for that money or add some money then have 2 set of rims. (or sell the stock or keep it for winter)

Same thing happened to mine, Mazda paid to have them refinished. Yes, I had them powdercoated black :)

Which Mazda did you goto? I'm going to Direct Mazda and they offered to get any rims which bubbling re-done, so I'm assuming powder coated the stock color. Shitty thing is they want my car for 2 days.. I hope they just take the rims off and ship them to the shop that is doing the powder coating and not drive my car there. I'm kinda bummed about not having my ride for 2 days.. I mean I under stand they need the rims etc..
I wish all the rims we're bubbling so I could get the all re-done.
The last time this happened to me on my Mazda 3 Sport GT, they just ordered new rims in and I was in for an hour or so while they swapped rims.

I went to Markham Mazda, I dealt with the Manager John. They didn't keep my car, I brought my winters in and they took my summers and shipped them out and put my winters on so I could keep driving my car. They did all 4 because all 4 were bubbling/peeling. If I was you, I would find out from them if they could do all 4. If you have a winter set of rims/tires, I would bring those with you so you don't have to leave the car with them, just the rims/tires.

Cool,
Ya I'm going to see if they can do all 4, I wonder if Direct Mazda will let me pick the powder coat color if they do end up re doing all 4 rims. I was thinking the samething, bring in my winters and have them toss those on.
Hmmm I wish the other 2 would just bubble, so then they're forced to do all 4 :)
