Hey guys,
Picking up my Graphite Mica 2010 Mazda 3 Sport GX on Wednesday, pretty excited. I have some noob questions, so bare with me.
Questions:
1.) Can I connect my iPhone to the stock head unit? I don't mean through the AUX port, I mean being able to skip tracks, pause, etc. I realize I may have to buy the iPod adapter.
2.) I got the base model, no AC (never use it in Toronto), manual transmission, no other options. Got it for 16,980 OTR, everything included. Do you think I got a good price? I don't really care at this point, just curious.
3.) Warranty. I bought it at Mazda of Orangeville, so would I be able to have service etc. at another dealership? I live in Woodbridge, so it would be cool if I can go to my local Mazda dealership for service etc.
Thanks a lot, and I hope to be an active member of these forums in the near future.

how in the world did you manage that price out the door????

Well I went to Mazda of Orangeville, I've been reading their kind of shady, but that price seemed like a good deal. Keep in mind its a GX, almost completely bare, no AC, no automatic transmission.
Lol, they even had another "Our manager made a mistake on the price, heres another car" moment. But I'm happy with how it all turned out.
One more question, do you find the need for a clear bra or noseguard to protect the front paint from chipping, if it chips at all?

yah, that MSRP is for barebones GX sport. but doesn't include tax and all that other fun stuff..
That's a crazy price. CRAZY!
I wouldn't get a defelector on the hood. if you ask me, it's kind of pointless considering where it sits on the car... which leaves a huge unprotected metal painted area (where the Mazda logo is) and that's where most of the stones are gonna fly.
it'll chip for sure if you do lots of highway driving, driving near trucks and stuff. depends on how you drive.
you'll have to make a decision on if it's worth it or not. some people say YAY! some people say NAY!

The paint chips quite easily, so I'd recommend this, though I'm not sure how competitive the dealer pricing is compared to the sponsors we have here.

Get mud flaps too, stones can be thrown up from the front tires to hit the sides of the car.

I agree about getting the clearbra through a sponser from the board....waaaayyyyy cheaper. It's a good investment and will help with stonechips, but be prepared if you drive on the highway to get nicks in your paint regardless!
If you do go for a clearbra get one that covers the entire hood, I have stonechips on the edge by the windshield on my hood.
Have fun on the board and you will be able to find all sorts of goodies to make your Mazda more fun.

That's a sweet deal you got there, 16k for a brand new 3 OTR...wow, makes me wonder why I bought used...
Welcome to the forums though! This place is great you'll find that out more and more with every visit.

That is a good price (MSRP $16,995, freight + PDI $1,395 and tax & fee $2,540.70 = $20,930.70 base GX). You save $3950.70 more than 15% from MSRP. That is a big mistake from dealer. Welcome aboard.

The best time to get the clearbra or ventureshield protection is right now, while the car is chip free. Since your car is the base model, I think oem mudflaps will fit it too.

Got the car today, absolutely blown away. Think about it, I used to drive a Toyota Echo Hatch before lmao. The clutch differences are amazing, engine power is more than enough for me.
Beware of pre-registered cars.
What's a pre-registered car? My car had 5 k, so I don't think this would apply.
Why do some GX models have the rear seat drop-down cup holders and some don't? I test drove a different car (same style + trim, except was automatic), but mines does not have that little feature. Any suggestions?

Yes, it's only 2010 GXs manufactured before October 2009 that have the armrest in the back and mirrors on the sun visors.

I have mirrors in the sun visors, but I would gladly switch that for the armrests. Hmm, so thats a good things I guess. Maybe I could switch up the seats one day...

I believe 2010 GXs manufactured before that date also have the silver lining (grin) under the Mazda logo in the front bumper

Yup, dont have that either, would've been nice, but what can you do. Appreciate what you do have, and not the other way around, ya know...

i went up there to buy a demo, i called the morning and was told yes that it was there and when i got there in the afternoon, i was told the car was alreadly sold and had already been delivered, i went in and dealt with the owner ( i looked like a bumb and no one wanted to serve me and i had my car parked in the back) the owner said that he would give me a new car for close to the same price, so yeah that is their game, but if the car is the same as the ones at every dealer, then i don't mind, there operating cost are less than the toronto dealers
