Edit Feature

I understand that to gain access to the edit function we need 100 posts, but even then the edit function is only available for 15 minutes from what I gather. After that the edit button goes away.

Why is that?

Can we have a permanent edit button?

actually the edit button is available for 12 hrs. due to abuse of the edit button on previous occasions...that is why it is set to 12 hrs.
