Don't know how many UFC fans are in here but i am absolutely STOKED to see UFC 112 Saturday night. We get the chance to see not 1, but 2 title fights.
BJ Penn and Anderson Silva have been on top of their games in the Lightweight and Middleweight divisions, respectively and I can't wait to see them in action regardless of who they're fighter..
I'm also really excited to see Renzo Gracie in the Octagon although I think the match is gonna play out the exact same as the Hughes vs Royce fight..

So all you UFC fans out there, lets hear what you got to say!

There are alot of fans on this site! I'm only excited to see one fight, hughes vs. Gracie. Anderson and BJ were given walks.....I mean if Marquart can lay out Maia in a second with above average striking what do you think Anderson is going to do with DLSJFKLSDJFKLSDKLSDF striking.....

Yeah BJ and Anderson's fights will probably be "shoe-ins" but since both divisions have been cakewalks for the both of them lately, I'm come to expect the same onesidedness and thrilled just to see them in action.
I think Demian Maia will def more cautious when going in for the shoot, but I don't see him having the power to take down Anderson and his underrated takedown defense. Having said that, I hope we don't see part 2 or Thales Leites or Patrick Cote vs Anderson if Maia can't get it to the ground.

Overall good fights.. I like to see champions in action .. Unlike Tito.. What? like 5 Title defenses in 5 years or something like that?.. PFFFFFT!!!

I'm pretty sure they are 30lbs apart in weight and already fighting other people tomorrow :)

I've heard BJ wants to move up and Anderson moves down.. But as along as GSP will be the king of Welterweight as long as he's there..
Off topic, I'm hoping Shogun wrecks Machida so we can see a possible Silva - Rua matchup since Machida won't fight Anderson.. I don't like all this no fighting friends stuff.. Fitch doesn't want to fight Koscheck even it it means winner gets title shot!! Ridiculous..

I think Dana White offered Hughes a huge payday...At this point in both the fighters careers, this fight has absolutely no impact in the rankings or even title contention.. I don't see this as anything other than a) a good payday for both fighters and b) a treat for the fans! :)

It's in Dubai.. First time ever... I'll be tempted not to look at the results.. I remember when PrideFC used to be on and it would always be tape delayed since it took place in Japan. All the entrances were edited out so we got to see mostly fight action. Those were the days we got our ppv moneys worth and they showed 8-9 fights.. Unlike UFC which we get 5 fights, 6 if we were lucky.

Hmmm fights were ooookay.....Munoz shocked alot of people with some great heart. Hughes/Gracie was bruuuutal......I know Renzo hadn't fought in a long time but it DEF showed lol. And hughes's standup was HORRID....if he fights like that against Kos, AJ, Daley, etc he will get KTFO. BJ/Edgar was pretty boring, Edgar looks like he's on Speed, and I think BJ just thought he would catch him once and end the fight, then time just kinda ran out on him.

Silva is just silva....I hate that guy and actually wish ill will on him.....then again on the flip side how can you blame him. Joe Silva puts Thales Leites against him and we get the most boring and annoying final in UFC history. So what does J. Silva do? Lets put in a guy that's EXACTLY like Leites, wonder how that will turn out....grrrrrr

Silva vs. Belfort FTW
Silva (@LHW) vs. Rampage FTW - Big test, if Silva wins, get title shot at LHW
Silva (@ Catch Weight 180) vs. GSP FTW

The fight card started off really well. I was rooting for Munoz and I thought he fought with tremendous heart and I'm glad he got the win. He's got hands of thunder on the GnP. A very noticeable 43 year old Renzo Gracie stepped into the cage that night and when he didn't check any of the leg kicks, I knew the end was coming soon. I think Hughes is still game; but he's never had good standup, wouldn't mind seeing him KTFO again though. :)

50-45 was absolutely outrageous.. When that was announced I thought BJ won it. Props to Edgar for sticking to a gameplan, albeit a boring strategy. Thought it should have been at least a split decision even though BJ didn't seem like he even wanted to be there. His corner well telling him to take it to the ground between 3rd and 4th rd, but no takedown attemps.

And then there's Silva.. I liked his fight with Forrest and thought the fight was gonna go the same way with his antics. I enjoyed it at first but also grew weary and was expecting the big finish. Anderson has always been an egomaniac (wearing fur coat in the stands) and I think he enjoys the thrill of having the entire audience in the palm of his hands and on the edge of our seats waiting for his next move.. But unfortunately for this fight, his next and only move was 15 minutes of circling around. Who knows what his reason for this strategy was.. I don't blame Joe Silva that much since at any point in the fight, Anderson could have finished off the broken nosed, eye swollen shut Maia but decided to retreat. It's not like Maia was effectively negating Silva's attacks, he absorbed huge amounts of punishment. But Maia has my respect and I'll be cheering for him from now on since he made the whole 2nd half of the fight.

On the flipside, out of the 11 fights Anderson Silva has had in the UFC, his only 2 decision wins have come to Brazilian fighters. Maybe he is sparing his fellow countrymen and beating of a lifetime? Or perhaps he really does match very badly against strictly bjj fighters?
