Hi all,
I'm removing the undercarriage cover for my 05 mazda 3. For some reason a 10 mm bolt will not come off. It keeps spinning at one place when I try to take it out with a 10 mm socket. Any suggestions?
the cover is hanging and I can't really drive, any feedback will be appreciated!

The bolt I am talking about is the the middle one circled in yellow

Is there not a nut on one side of the bolt? The old style clips had a nut welded to the clip but when they broke off you would need a wrench on either side of the clip.

you can pry against the underside of the bolt as you turn it to give the broken speednut above some friction... that's if you're able to back off the bolt enough
there's updated speednuts that will fix the problem

as stated, put a wrench on the other side and crankr out!

Plus use some penetrating oil on the threads? But that would make make it harder to get the speednut to grab... Can you reach through the hole and get a pair of pliers on the speednut? Or stick a straight screwdriver in the gap so you can press against the side of the nut?

There was a TSB to replace these with newer ones I think.
