Hey everyone
I have a 09 hatch w/ Fujita F5 CAI and it has been 2 time that I'm fixing it. The bolt that's holding the intake to the chassis keeps breaking. And I guess that's y I keep having CEL for faulty MAF sensor. Cuz it keeps putting it and eventually rip some part of the harness of the MAF.
Anyone have that prob who can provide a solution?
Thanks!

mine broke off and i just super glued the bolt back to the bushing lol and make sure that the intake isnt pulling on the bushing to much ...and dont make it to tight ..thats what i did and it broke ..ever since it tighted it just enough and superglued it i havent had any probs.

you can buy extra bushings from the dealer, it's like less than 7 bucks i think.. but as mz3 stated, dont over tighten, add another spacer washer if needed between the bushing and the CAI

I have a spare one (it's called a vibramount). You can also make one yourself with a bolt and whatever materials you can find for a bushing. Not all materials are created equally though, and may not stand the test of time. I.e., some materials will break down over time from weather / temperature, etc.

maybe you need to replace the pipe couplers with humped ones to give the pipe more flex?

i think a bracket of mine or bolt as well broke off recently. i keep hearing a rattling noise when i start at 1st. i'll get it inspected when i bring it in for service. i don't really have any access to the bottom end of my CAI. such an annoying noise. i always like my car in good condition and can't stand this.

i broke my bolt twice now and the last time it broke was mid this winter and i have yet to fix it... its a mazdaspeed accesory one and not even the shield is rubbing. its just hanging. i have had no problems and because i havent im not gonna bother fixing it rite now for it to break for a 3rd time.
my mount broke about 6 months after install, it didn't seem to line up properly so i zip-tied it in opposite directions with a tad bit of play, its been working great since then for the last 2 years

I have a fujita f5 cai too
If this is a problem, is there any precautions i can take
you're talking about the bolt that holds on the bottle right side near the wheel?
holding the piece on the body, not the 2 bottles and clamps on the throttle body?

My bracket on my F5 doesnt line up either so i left it off. Its been fine for over a year and much easier to take off, inspect, clean etc.
The bracket breaks due to engine movement/twisting.
Not sure if its a sign your motor mounts are semi weak? prolly not. However ive seen the AEM CAI brackets break where the weld to the CAI and leave a big hole in the pipe. Allowing dirty air to bypass filter right into the motor. So please check on yours!!

:whoa I better check mine... I noticed I hear my intake more lately, but I thought that was due to my new exhaust. Thanks for the heads up!

I sell them for under $3. Best solution IMO is to somehow put an extra brace on the intake tube to prevent all the movement.

Ok so there's no hole in the pipe on mine. However, the clinking noise is indeed from the intake.
I can't find the bracket that holds the pipe in place at the bottom. Something did break since it's dangling loose at the bottom. Do all intakes share a universal bracket to hold it in place? I'm not sure where I can purchase one that's of the same size and contour that of a K&N typhoon. Hmmm... perhaps I should just convert it to a SRI.

I don't believe there is a universal bracket because the bracket is welded to the intake. You could find soneone skilled at welding aluminum who could fab and weld a new bracket for you.
Alternatively you might be able to create a bracket out of strapping and a piece of metal.

Actually the K&N bracket isn't welded to/a part of the piping. It's screwed on both ends.

Sweet. I had no idea K&N was set up like that. You could fab one of those fairly easily. Just use coat hanger wire or armature wire to make a template. Then buy some metal brackets, bend, drill holes, install, drink beers.

I still think the best thing to do is to use a humped hose coupler at the throttle body that way the engine moves, but not the intake!
there's a reason why the stock intake uses an accordion hose ;)
