Hey guys,
I realize that the filter on my CAI is pretty much useless, the engine light comes on whenever its dirty and the car's performances sucks.. on that note, can i replace it with a KNN type (oiled) filter or does it have to be another dry one.. and if so, where can i get a replacement filter for the CAI?
i know i can wash it in soapy water, but i need another standby one anyway. cant afford not to use the car until it dries.. :bang
thanks in advance.

you do NOT want to use an oiled air filter... this will only exacerbate the problem... the MAF in these mazdas are weak compared to the old ones and can't handle oiled filters very well... mazda has went as far as issuing a TSB stating NOT to warranty any issues related to an oiled air filter, which in otherwords means not to use them
you can buy a replacement mazdaspeed filter... the part number is GRMS-8M-L09... a cleaning kit is also available.. the part number is GRMS-8M-Z99
I believe both the filter and cleaning kit is made by AEM... but I'm not sure

Go into your dealership and buy one. They are about $30 - 35 I believe.

What about the drop-in K&N filters for the stock airbox? Those are oiled, and i've never had problems with them.

Any of these. http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/forumdisplay.php?204-Affiliate-Dealerships
I usually replace my filter with a new one every year. So I run a new one for the spring/summer, clean it, then use it for fall/winter, and replace.

I've been using the same filter for 2 years lol. I do wash and clean with soap and water. I did it 4 times already. I think its time for a new one

Sure, why not? They will probably charge you a bundle but they will. You do get discounts on parts and MS accessories at select "affiliate" dealerships though.

I just want to make it clear. Is there a 2010 mazdaspeed CAI? I called my dealership and they said there nine out yet. Or are you guys talking about a previous year model for the CAI?
