In my previous car which was a 2003 hyundai accent, I used nitrous on the 2.0 beta swap that I installed. The engine was very heavily modified and had a 50 shot of ZEX wet nitrous. When I sold the car I kept the ZEX system. I'm curious, because I can't seem to find anything in searches on here, has anyone ever used nitrous on a 2.0 L mazda 3 or heard of anyone using it. I also have the Greddy engine management that I used on the accent, that is infinitely programmable that I could use on my 3 and tune on a dyno at DL Motorsports. Does anyone have any thought on the use of nitrous on a mazda 3 or experiences to share?. Just for reference, I used it on my previous car quite often for over 150,000 kms with NO damage or issues. However, the internals of that engine had been modified accordingly. Thanks for any information.

I dont want to give my 2 cents, as I might be flamed from the last post...

Very curious to see if it is possible for the 3 to have Nitrous without damaging the engine internally.

i would have the internals upgraded if you were to go that route. Just to be on the safe side. and maybe a stronger tranny.

To be honest, I'm kinda trying to recycle some horsepower from my prior car to save a little on an already catastrophically blown mod budget, so replacing a tranny isn't an option. However, a performance clutch may be within budget.

Doesn't really show too much here, but no one has probably seen this in an accent before. LOL. I'm so glad I grew up and bought a 3. LOL. A much more sofisticated car!

There are a couple of threads on m3f about spray. Look up strato.blue.3; he's spraying.

On a serious note. props on your old Accent. I've had 2 Elantras a 2000 with the Beta and currently a 2009 with the Beta 2, they appear to be tough.

Toss up some pics of the Accent... I think she is a customer at the shop now :)

It has Accent UK Club stickers, a big wing, and some CF in the interior etc?

What is the rule in Ontario for nitrous? I thought as long as you are not using it on the streets you can have it, no?

The new legislation also bans driving on a highway with
a connected nitrous oxide system.

I also heard what vlad said about jail time. Probably not worth it. Better off with a turbo kit or a new car or something lol

Disconnect it or have a 'fake disconnected-setup' and your real one hidden.

I stopped by the OPP detatchment today and you ARE permitted the whole set up in your car including the bottle as long as there is a clear detachment of the lines from the bottle. NO remote lock off is permitted. And no "sneaky pete" bottles are permitted. The bottle must be installed linear in the vehicle with a 15 degree incline to the attachment end. I don't understand all of the details, just this information was given. Any street use is illegal, only for track, There is NO jail time for use of nitrous, however if caught with the bottle connected, there is 5 demerit points issued and the equivelent of about $1000 worth of fines. If you are in an accident and there is a connected bottle, even if there is no clear speeding present in the collision, it would more than likely be deemed a street racing incident and you would be fined as such. Your insurer would be informed also if you were found to have a bottle attached in any occasion and more than likely your insurance would be canceled. Hope that helps. SO in recap, Yup, you can have it in your car. But don't have it connected on the street. Save it for off road only. OR take your chances.
