Hi, I've had my 3 for a month now. It has comfort package. I tinted the windows and changed the wheels. I've been reading the forum and researching different things. I really like it. I found out about lots of amazing things that i would have never discovered without the forum. I ended up at Quy's place and coated my wheels in gunmetal. I was amazed at how the gutmetal turned out almost exactly the same as the graphite mica. It looks awesome. I bought my tires at Simply. I'm not sure how to post a photo yet. I'll give it a try here though. I;m excited to be part of this forum.

REALLY nice rims man. Makes me almost want to powdercoat mine at a later date... get them gunmetal grey or something.

Thanks for all the replies.

I need a bit of advice though. I'm thinking about lowering my car but I don't know how much I can do with the rx8s. I really don't want any rubbing or a really rough ride. What needs to be done to lower a car other than the spring? Approximately what would it cost to lower about 1 inch or 1.5 inch. Thanks in advance.

you could drop on prokits for around 1.2" all around (correct me if I'm wrong). Peter at nextmod has the older versions' springs for mid-200s, and the 2010 one's are low-mid 300s. I got the older prokits installed on my 2010 GT Sport and it's just about the perfect drop for me, personally.

Thanks, can I see a picture of your drop? Do you need to buy any other parts when you lower a car? Does it affect warranty?Does your car ever bottom out or scrape? Thanks.

This is after I had the calipers painted and the center caps painted to match the wheels.

Man that looks great! So were those just regular alloy wheels? I didn't know you could powder coat alloy. man I should do that with my 04 gt rims. How much was the powder coating?

Yes you can powder coat alloy wheels. I did them at quy's coating. You can find the info if you search the forum. It costs 450 to sandblast, powder coat and clear coat the rims. If your rims are clean and not corroded you can just powder coat them and its a lot cheaper. The finish on them is duarable and beautiful.

oh and btw all you need to buy is the springs to drop it (there are other things you can buy to improve performance, but the springs alone will do the job), I have no rubbing at all with this setup, and as far as I know it doesn't affect the warranty.

Hi GWN. Thanks for the reply. I really like your ride height and your wheels. Just out of curiosity did you install the springs yourself? approximately how much to install them? You also mentioned other things that can improve performance, do you mean better struts? How is the ride quality on the pro kits? Thanks.

No problem! And thanks, I didn't install them myself, I went to APH (Advance Powerhouse), and they installed them when I got the rims on. Total installation fees (including the rims) were around $200 I think. And yeah the other things you can get are upgraded struts, shocks, sway bars, etc. The ride quality is great on prokits, it's not overly stiff but it is a little bit stiffer than OEM. Personally, I think it's the perfect ride for me
