I wanna buy a tow hook, but I'm unsure of the thread count, as my tap and die kit can't measure that large of a thread.

Does anyone know the thread count?

The one that I want to buy is 17 x 2.5

Thanks.

Tow hook, as in the one that threads into the front bumper?

You should have the tie-down hook that came with the car (with the jack?). You could check that with a ruler....

1) Yes,

2) ... it's under the package tray in the back. I want a red one for show.

3) Doh!... :loco I'm such a dufuss sometimes.

Thanks!

Another option would be to install a universal fitment tow hook. I came across some in the Group Buy thread. Garage16.ca was selling them around $120-130/pair at the time the post was published.
Anyways here are the links if you are interested in installing these kinds of tow hooks.

I'm in the process of making my own. I took my tow hook to Brofastco (yes, I probably spelt it wrong) and they gave me a bolt to match. I welded on a hallow round bar over the bolt, and then welded flat bar onto the round bar for a mounting spot. It's 80% and I'll post pics when I'm done. All in, I have about $4 into the metal.
