Hey all,

I was just inspecting my car today and I found a few fine scratches in my leather seats, which is not so bad. But the real kicker is that in some places, the leather was cut. not all the way through but cut nonetheless... as if something sharp from someones clothes dragged across the seat.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any methods that would seal up the cut so it doesn't propagate any further.

Ughh... this is why I hate having people in my car.

I'm no detail expert but I've been told by Kaval that you need to condition your leather every few months or so to ensure there are no cracks / scratch's. My car has the leather package and I make sure to clean and condition it every few months or so to prevent that from happening. As for sealing up the cut, perhaps you can sew or reseam it with some comparable leather?

The problem is that the cuts were made from sharp objects from articles of clothing. not so much the natural drying out of the leather or anything.

Maybe I'll just use some crazy glue on it so it doesn't propogate? but I thought there was some sort of special leather glue out there that someone knows about.

I'd go to a trim shop or a leatherman for advice

hey dudes. and dudettes.
just thought I would post an update on this in case someone else in teh future has the same problem as i did.

i found a local place in mississauga (it's a drive to your door service) called Colorglo. the prices quoted seemed reasonable and the guy seemed nice enough. http://www.colorglo.ca/

i didn't actually get the work done from him though because I had the seats replaced under warranty.

Had some deep scratches on passenger leather seat. I called colorglo in mississaga. The price was good and the work he (Zibby) did was fantastic, cant see the repair. He also fixes plastic trim scratches and discoloring. Highy recommended.
