*points to self*

Look at me! I'm the newest female member of the manual transmission mazda driving family. :)

Just over 48 hours ago, I drove off a used car dealership lot with a *brand new* (to me) '06 mazda 3 gt. Because I'm relatively new to driving manual transmission, I've had a few stalls and grinds since I picked it up, but nothing crazy today, so yay.

I've had a thing for Mazda 3's since I started driving the Mazda 3 zipcars around Toronto. You know that feeling when you get in a car, and it just fits you? Well, that's how I felt when I got into that first Zipcar and drove it away. Everything was perfectly placed for my petite self.... Here I am a year later, with my very own M3 GT MT.

I know I'll learn a lot from these forums, and hope to do so. Please don't hesitate to send any news tidbits my way regarding any *hidden* facts should know about my new baby.

Welcome!!

I used to be a Zipcar member myself (still is, but rarely use it, and no annual fee since I'm still gonna be a student for 2 month lol)! I'm gonna go rent a zipcar pick up truck for an hour in a few weeks to help me move a sofa :P

Anyway, Welcome to TM3!

Welcome! Any mods planned?

Yes, but they are not concrete plans yet. First off, getting an aux input for my system. :) I'm considering changing my lights in the near future as well, but it's still new to me, so the novelty has not worn off yet.

Mine is the dark grey - carbon gray I think it's called. It's the colour that's almost black. Lol.

P.S. Also for first "mods" I plan on doing pink or purple accents - license plate frames & hubcaps are what I've decided on changing so far... Also engine cover, but not so concerned about that since it's internal. I actually don't like pink that much, but I was trying to come up with a colour that would go best with the dark grey, and a light pink is quite appealing to me. I also think a teal kind of colour might work... In any case, license plate frames will be changed and hubcaps will be painted when I decide. Lol

Hey! I'm located close to the Brampton/Mississauga border at Steeles/McLaughlin. ^_^

And although you may have stalled your car many times while unlicensed, I think that's slightly more different than stalling while driving a car you newly purchased along Hwy 7 during rush hour. LOL Thankfully I've learned to not let that happen anymore!

Everytime I'm away from my car for more than 24 hours, I get mild M3 anxiety. I went away for the May 24 weekend and didn't bring her with me... When I got back I just kind of sat in the car for a few minutes just because I was so happy to see her again. =D It's almost as if I have a mistress... Or something... ;)

Although I feel like my car is too 'stock' to attend meets just yet, I look forward to attending my first one this weekend to enhance or add to my already existing ideas of how I'd like to prettify her. I hope to meet all you awesome M3'ers.

Ahaha you live right by Sheridan Davis campus. A bunch of us actually used to go there (myself, FONZ and some others) but I think all or most of us have already graduated.

My car is more or less stock and I bring it to meets regardless. Meets are a great place to have fun and check out other peoples mods to give you an idea of exactly what you want to do to your car before you go out and spend the money to do it.

Make sure to get some TM3 plates too :)

I used to walk to the rec centre by Sheridan all the time and did my drivers training there on weekends. :)

My car IS stock. Although I'd like to get some pretty decals for it, I doubt I'll get them anytime soon. I'm so busy with school, work and hobbies that I barely have time to sleep. But yes, as i mentioned... I plan to steal/borrow/use other people's ideas to enhance my own ideas for the changes I'd like to be made to my baby... erm.. car.

Where do I get the TM3 plates from? I figure there would be somewhere on the forums that I would be able to obtain that information from, but I'm far to lazy to look and I'd like to leave work relatively soon, so I don't feel like starting that search at the moment.

Depending on your location, send either S.F.W. (Ami) or phil05gx (Phil) a message. A set of TM3 plates will run you $20.

Yea, so...

My mom just ran over my engine cover... by accident of course, but she ran it over nonetheless...

Long story short: it's been sitting in the same spot for a week as I've been priming it. This week I started painting it... And now it's in pieces since mom decided that she should come into the garage in a different way than she normally does. Yes she knew it was there. *sigh* -_-"

Is there anywhere I can purchase an '06 engine cover without dishing out a ridiculous amount of $$? =(

Check the wreckers. Might be able to find one for cheap there.

Is there a specific place or two that have larger than normal inventories or would I just have to scout 'em all out to find one?
