Since going to Canadian Tire and they only had 2 paint colors for a Mazda (black or white lol), I decided to just head to the dealership to get a touch up pen.

I gave him my VIN # over the phone and he said he had the "pearly white" in stock. (I drive a pearl white '07 Mazda sport). When I went there I talked to the same guy and he gave me a pen called 'crystal white'. Which is fine and all.

Then we stepped outside to double check. He opened my front door to check the numbers to see if the paint would match. I have no idea what numbers those are...but whatever. He checked, and still couldn't find them.

He's like "Oh yeeep..yep yep there it is 34k". I didn't question him. But now I am. I'm wondering since he couldn't find the number on that small sticker, if he was lying and just giving me the "crystal white" pen. lol Maybe not.

I mean, it's not a huge deal. I'm just wondering if anyone else picked up a touch-up pen from the dealership who has the same color car as mine, and if it's called crystal white? The paint chips on my car are practically invisible. Like pin-pricks so it's not going to matter a huge deal if I have the exact same paint pen. But I wanted to lol.

Look at your driver side door. There is a big fat sticker on the side with your paint code and the color. If it is CWP, then it should be 34K

That's the sticker he was looking at. Said he couldn't find it, then magically he did.

Idk..

I thought the white colors the Mz3 came in were "Arctic White" and "Crystal White Pearl".. and the Arctic White doesn't have pearl finish to it..

So my touch up job looks like total garb. :( I only got around to doing the paint chips last week.

you are supposed to apply the touch up paint with a bbq skewer stick or something very fine. If you use the pen directly on your car you will get a blob of paint

touch up paint is a waste of time in my opinion. I have always hated the outcome...stupid pens :complain
