I voted for the top one (GS, I assume) because it matches better with the bottom holes and makes it flow better.

i have the gs grille, but i'm getting tired of it, its too stock..so i would vote for GT. or open mouth if you're willing lol
Impressive

I voted GT (a bit biased) but i really do like it better.
You could also go with the JDM one (chinnster is selling one atm), they look really good as well.

Hey guys thanks for your input! So looks like the GT grille might be the better choice huh?

I was thinking the exact same thing... I mean on a black car it's not as noticeable, the sun is shining directly on the lower mesh in the photo here so I can see how it might look kinda funny. However, if I end up getting foggssssss then I won't have this issue anymore! hmmm :chuckle

GT for sure. I love the GT grille on the 07+ models. Too bad you can't fit an 07+ bumper on a 04-06 M3.

same as the 04-06 ones, no? But different bumpers so the bottom is cut of... wouldn't work I don't think..

They're different, instead of the 2 slates, they're single slate
I've got just the grille, I bought it from Peter a while back but couldn't get it to fit on my car...
um... check chinster's ride, he might have them.

Gs all the way, I never liked the look of the grill slats, makes it look too much like a "grill", I keep looking for my BBQ tongs. Of course it is your car Ash so do what you think will look best.

I'll try it out for a while. If I feel like eatin a hamburger every time I look at my car I'll switch back :chuckle

I don't think the GT grilles and GS grilles are interchangable. There will be a gap if you do switch.

wtf seriously? I searched and there were a couple of people who did it with no issues... bahhh.
Okayyyyy so if anyone has actually done the swap on a 2004-2006 GS model let me know how that worked out. Maybe I'm just using the wrong search terms here? lol

Hmm, all I can find is this link: http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=17644.0. There's a gap if you put a GS grill on a GT. So maybe it'll just be a tight fit if you go the other way around? Maybe you can do a quick test fit when you pick up your grille.

Yep great idea, I already have someone willing to lend me a grille.
Thanks!

Question for you. Are those 17" tires? Do you have side skirts on your car??

So in case anyone was still wondering, an 04 GT grille fits pretty good on an 05 GS! Still needs to be painted though. Or maybe I just leave it blue. :chuckle

Looks good - install that yourself?? You worried about matching the paint??

The grill is simple to install, it's 4 or 5 bolts (can't remember exactly), and bolts right on.

Thanks! :) If you go to www.car-part.com (http://www.car-part.com) you can find parts in your area from scrapyards. I just did a quick search and there's one for $77 at Daves Truck and Auto Parts out around the Kanata area. Maybe price them out at some dealerships too... specifically Elite Mazda ;)
