Hey guys,

I'm planning on ordering a TWM STS in the coming month and I was looking on the TWM site and I noticed if you order it off their site, they recommend getting the shifter base bushings for your STS.

Did any of you guys bother with getting the upgraded shifter base bushings? or did you leave the stocks ones in?

Are they worth upgrading?

When i got mine they came with them. I used them because they make shifter a little more stiffer and better.

I've been running the JBarone short shifter plate for over a week now I guess. He includes new bushings with the plate but I didn't have time to install them right away. I finally went and installed them today and WOW, what a difference it makes. I wasn't expecting much, but they really do make a big difference. It feels real solid now and I like Fobio said in his post about them, the unnecessary resistance is gone. Highly recommend you get upgrade these bushings.

yup, i did the J Barone Stage 2 upgrade as well about 2 weeks ago and man was it worth it. $100 for shorter and more solid throws is awesome. I personally don't want my shifter any shorter than stock. I like that stock height lines up well with the centre arm rest and it keeps my arm away from any drinks i may have in the cup holder.

J Barone's stage 2 is freaking sweet.

hey thanks for review..i been doing a bit of research between picking up TWM SS or a Jbarone SSP and I have now decided on the JBarone SSP mainly b/c I too also like the stock shifter height. Can't wait to feel the difference in the throws!

You have a 2010 mazda 3 correct? The 2010 TWM short throw kit right now I believe is also a plate (same thing as the Jbarone), so it makes a lot more sense to just pick up the Jbarone SSP.
$154.90 for the TWM ssp + Bushings vs $100 for the Jbarone ssp + bushings.

You made the right choice, I love mine so far.

That is correct! I have the GS trim in 6sp with CP. I'm waiting to jump onto a GB for the Jbarone atm. I started a GB thread earlier today on his request but it has come to my attention that he needs to become a sponsor first before we can proceed forward.
