I'm cleaning my PRM intake filter, and the instructions say to oil the "inlet side of the filter"..... which side is that exactly?

pretty sure you only want oil on the outside of your filter.

Yup. Inlet=side the air enters from, i.e.: outside.

and make sure you oil the filter with just the right amount of oil.

Not a dumb question, it's always better safe than sorry.

Yup. Especially when it comes you your engine's breathing. Somethings get very expensive if you mess them up... and this is one of them.

+1 yup not at all.. if you're not sure.. you ask. If you ask, but didn't listen anyway and messed something up, now that's dumb :chuckle

Which would you guys recommend between cone filter w/ heatshield (http://www.autobarn.net/ractive-shield-filter.html) vs AEM DryFlow Filter w/o heatshield?

I've heard excellent things about the DryFlow, but unfamiliar with how much of an effect a heatshield will have on an SRI.

I loved my AEM filter. Infact i stripped the filter off my car i traded in to use with whatever intake i decide to go with next.

I also just found out that the Corksport SRI i ordered last week is out of stock. Should i wait until july when they re stock or are there other SRI options just as good that i could get this week. I was partial to the Corksport because it came with a turbo inlet pipe.

Yea I think I'm gonna go with the AEM filter but I also want to get a universal heat shield. Anybody know anything about those? Do they work? I've seen some stainless steel ones shields for ~$15 but I don't want to pay an additional ~20 for shipping just for a small piece of steel. Anybody know where I can get one locally?

I'm running a AEM dryflow filter on my CAI and they're great. Easy to clean as well.
