Hey guys, I have a white line that is up on my forward front dash, right close to wear the front window meets the car, it goes from the front of the dash straight back and stops in the vent. Looks like possible it is place where the two pieces come together? It goes through a little black bump (I assume the light sensor?)
Anyways wondering if anyone else has this? What is my best way to cover this up? Or should I just leave it?

Yep. Dash is cracked. Nothing you can do about it really.

Damn, what would cause that? Is there anything I can use to possibly cover it up?

Mix between extreme heat/sun. The plastic can shrink a bit and crack. Using protectants like armor-all can cause it as well.
Other than replacing the dash, covering it with a vinyl wrap or some kind of alternative, you are pretty much SOL.
If you try and glue, paint, etc it won't look good at all.

yea its a crack. I got one. Just ignore it lol, no point in wasting money to replace the part because it may happen again

dashboard replacement is no longer necessary... you can actually buy that crappy piece of plastic that goes along the windshield... I think the one you buy now is an "improved" part though
but... dashboard removal to get it fixed still needs to be done... and that's not fun at all
if the car is under warranty, then it will be covered
go to crappy tire and get a sun visor for 12$!

You can also line up a bunch of Dragonball Z (or your favourite anime) figurines along the dash to distract you or any of you passengers from noticing the crack.

Interesting, I wonder what the dealership would charge me to take care of it. It is starting to annoy me
one of those dogs with the head that bobs up and down lol that would cover it up

Well, I should have listened. I had some dude from a detailing place tell me he could fix it up. Basically it looked like crap and I was really pissed. Am going to go after him for my money back next week. He got dye/paint everywhere and just made the thing look bigger and more noticeable.
So, I took some black Tape I found in the auto section of crappy tire and cut two pieces to fit around the light sensor and this is what I ended up with. Opinions?
My next attempt at a fix will be a dash cover fit to the entire piece that is right up under the window. I can't replace it with a factory one as it only comes with all the parts under it and would cost a fortune.

Hot damn! I thought I was the only one with that exact same crack. Annoying as all hell if you ask me. See it everytime I drive and I like to keep the car clean and free of little dash trinkets etc. Your tape job doesn't look horrible though.. I might have to consider that, or maybe write a nasty letter to Mazda they'll look after at... ;P

The nice thing is that it is in the center of the dash, so you can get away with covering up a few different ways. Don't waste your time on the tape job. When it gets in the sun the tape melted a bit and formed around the crack making it look worse.
I also have a faint white line, its not a crack YET.. I actually just went out and bought a sun shade. ..
Also i realized when i use armor all wipes for the dash, the shine from the wipe covers the line so its not visible.
