Seeing as how it's sunday and i really don't feel like sitting on hold all day with my insurance company and the fact that i don't feel like reading through my insurance package i'm hoping someone here maybe able to answer my question.

My car is fully insured. Tomorrow my brother needs to have his Protege5 taken to the shop to get some work done on it. I have tomorrow off work so I've been asked to take his car to the shop for him and he's asked to borrow my car to go to work.

If something were to happen, would he still be covered under my insurance?

The general rule in Ontario is that if you lend your car, you lend your insurance. So the short answer is yes.

As long as you are both licensed drivers, then you would both be covered under each others insurance!!

as long as he's not living in the same household he would be covered, but if you live under the same roof he'd have to be under your policy, otherwise insurance follows the car not the driver.

The insurance policy covers your car, but, if the driver is NOT listed on your policy and he resides in the same address, the insurance company will ask you a lot of questions as to why he is not listed on the policy. Seeing as he has his own car and policy, there shouldn't be any issues to answer that question.

In the event that an accident was to happen with your car while he is driving it and he is at FAULT, it is your premium that will rise, not his or the other drivers. Same goes for you driving his car.

He is on my parents insurance...i'm on my own separate policy but still linked under theirs. I assume nothing will happen...but then again....

He doesn't have to be listed on his insurance if they live in the same house hold if he is over the age of 25..

that is wrong, over 25 is for third party but not living under the same household.
