Not sure where I should've posted this, but just wondering if anyone in the Mississauga area can give me a hand with installing these "SSG" side skirt extensions? They're already painted, and have industrial strength 3M tape (thanks to Jimmy), but the drilling/screwing part has me a bit jittery.

Willing to pay with Timmies/fast food :)

I don't mind drilling holes in other people's cars............... :)

Are these the MS-style add ons that go under the the regular side skirts?

Well, I am handy with tools and crafty. I haven't installed skirts on a car before, but I am quiet technical =)

I'll offer my help if you need it!

EDIT: Just thought I'd ask, what exactly do you need someone to do for you? (Rather know now then later haha)

Thanks :) I believe the drilling (w/ self-tapping screws) is only into the OEM side skirts, so nothing penetrating metal

Correct. 1 or 2 at the ends and a couple in the middle. Something stainless, 1/2 inch total in length and #8 in size (I think) is what I used

Canadian Tire, $5 at the most, including washers if you want.
Small 9/64th pilot hole then tighten until snug.

What are you suggesting? Lifting the whole car?

SilentJay

:P I was kidding - I don't think lifting is necessary?

Just flip it over :)

Really thou, if your lowered you'll need to use jack stands to get the drill underneath

+1

Actually, lowered or not.... you really want to see where you are drilling, and you will need clearance for the drill and the screwdriver.

Sounds like everything is covered here, go ahead and get drilling.

+1 on the washers.

Crap. That's the one thing I forgot... I don't have washers.

I'm not lowered (:P) but do have jack/jack-stands anyway. RJ3 is coming over a little later today to help me out, but anyone else who wants to swing by is more than welcome - I think we need another pair of hands.

^ . ^ Thanks to RJ for trying to help me out - turns out my 1950's drill that doesn't do reverse won't do the trick, so i'll have to find the proper tools to do it :P

Mini-meet at Rona FTW!
