Hello folks. Been reading around the forums for the past few days picking up some knowledge. Finally Got rid of my 96 Dodge avenger ( was great to me) and took the plunge to a brand new 2010 Mazda 3 GS. I bought it last week from Scarborough mazda. They didnt have the one i wanted on the lot so they said they had find me one and i got a phone call Wednesday saying 4-10 business days for delivery.
Hopefully it comes in tomorrow as im getting impatient! :complain lol

Looking forward to doing some more reading here.
Got a quick question also... What speaker size would my Model be? Seems like i cant find a straight answer.

Anywase thanks for setting up this forum. Its great especially for new mazda owners like me.

Sorry meant 6X8. lol see getting 2 different answers. Its like no one is sure lol not even some installers i spoke to. Bestbuy has 6X8 kickers on sale this week for a very low price. I wanted to pick some up but i want to get the rite size for my new mazda.

hmm well im now even more confused about the speaker size. Metra Electronics says their 6.5" speakers with a 3" depth. I would prefer 6X9 if they fit.. i dont mind cutting out a bracket out of MDF i just wish i can can a straight answer on what the Actual Factory speaker size is. I'd prefer just a direct replacement.
So ive now been told their 5X7, 6X8. and now 6.5" lol..:loco

I believe my model (2006) is 6.5"

I have no idea about the 2010 speaker size unfortunately.

I had to wait over a month for mine to arrive... you'd probably have a stroke if you had to wait that long...lol

are buying door speakers going to make much difference vs stock?

In my past experience it did make quite a noticeable difference. I mean im not buying anything super high end. Im just getting some basic Kicker base model speakers. Good enough. I have im also getting me dual 10" infinity Kappa's in my new mazda. They pounded in my old Avenger ( and the mazda is more compact so i could only imagine)

Finally got my new mazda today!!! Wooo!:headbang
ill get some pic's up when i can. First thing i did when i got home from the dealer was tackle the rear doors. Taking off the panels was EASY! Couldn't believe it! 3 screws and then poped out the clips. To my joy the rears are 6X8 and my replacement Kicker 6x8 fit exactly like stock! No modding necessary :hawt

Besides that i installed my sirius and scotch guarded my seats and floor. Tomorrow ill be heading to bestbuy to pick up a set of those kicker 6X8 but the components for the front ( one would assume the front doors are the same size.

Car rides very smooth. Also.. for the rust proofing.. its that Eletrical thing thats attached to the body and it sends current or w/e through the car to prevent rust.:loco

Congrats.

I would get it rust proofed. Those electrical devices are a gimmick.

+1 not the best method to prevent rust. IMHO.
