Sunday night i was at Dan (mcguyver_3) house getting new headlights installed and as soon as i left and was on the hoghway i realized i forgot my front plate. (i know im stupid). anyways..this morning i was taking my gf to school and i turned left onto john garland blvd. low and behold theres 2 cops standing there doing radar and one signals me to pull over...wtffffffff..
He asks me where my front plate is and i respond by telling him that i accidently forgot it at my friends house but he will be returning it tomorrow. they took my license and registration and warned me about my front wheels tucking yet i have 1in of clearance between the tire and the fender. The officer brings back my information and just gives me a warning...COOL :D
I'm back on the road and yet theres another cruiser on the same street..wow wtf is going on? I look in the rear view mirror to see that it had pulled a "U" turn..omfg not again. As i'm crossing the intersection i see that it is coming up fast behind me so i know he's coming after me. Cherries go on and i'm thinking i just set my own record of getting pulled over twice in 2 mins. The officer comes to my window..no good morning..no manners what so ever. "are you in a rush?" apparently i was speeding :S. "where is your front license plate?" I explained that I had been stopped 2 mins before for the same issue but he replied "i dont care." I got a ticket for failing to show a front plate and he says for me to take it to court with a receipt proving i purchased a front plate bracket...or i can pay the $110 fine which definitely will not do since i already have 2 brackets but i just don't have the plate...way to start a work week off.

I don't know about the GTA, but I know a lot of the cops in Guelph are A-holes to people with modified cars. It just pisses me off that just because I love my car and put time and effort into it, they think I'm a street racing hoodlum. :flaming

...sorry
LMFAO...
Sucks man. But seriously...only you can get pulled over twice in 2 minutes. Take it to court (but don't know why you need a receipt for a plate bracket)
Did you get my angel eyes when you were there like I asked?

Yeah, I don't know either. What was the deal with that phil?
Can't you just put your old bracket on?

Ahh yeah that's not so bad.... My friend got a $110 ticket for a burnt out bulb over the license plate, so you got off easy for not having anything at all ;)

As posted earlier in threads, or was it conversation, They check your plates in their computer.. If they see you get pulled over that day... Cops will always start to harass you/follow you to see if your going to break the law.
Trust me it happened to me in 2005.
Hope you get your plate back soon.

Heh - Rexdale FTL.
When I was driving my Altima and going to school @ Humber, I was harassed to no end in that area. Pulled over for "spot checks", "ownership checks", and "safety checks". Bastards pulled me over and were actually LOOKING for ways to nail me, circling my car carefully. Of course, they'd never find anything and I'd never speed around there, so they just waddle back to their squad cars and stuff their faces while I wait.

From what I heard from a friend who is in the auxillary program, when you get pulled over, they run your license and plates to see if you have any offenses outstanding like unpaid tickets or so. If they give you a warning, I dont think they flag your license. The 2nd cop who pulls you over will have no idea you have been pulled over before. This is what I have been told

It seems like the first cop that warned you may have notified the other cop you were heading down that same street. Seems like it's too much of a coincidence don't you think? I get pulled over waay to many times for the 'badass' appeal I hate it.

not sure how it works in TO but i know in ottawa now when they give you a warning it looks like a real ticket and all but its just a warning, meaning it went in the system. unless its diff over there or it was a verbal warning the other cop should have seen he had given him a warning no?
still sucks for you phil.

You guys need to take off the tinfoil hats. Why would the first cop notify the second cop that he was coming? What benefit would he get from doing that...
If I'm driving down the road and I spot a guy with out a front license plate, I'm going to turn around and pull him over to see whats up. That's standard procedure, get a reason to pull someone over and then check them out to see what else (if anything) they've done wrong.
Yeah it sucks that you got pulled over twice for the same thing, but you can't blame the two officers for that happening. You knowingly drove the car without the front plate, so you must have known that you were bait and at risk for getting pulled over.

i agree they are just doing they're job. if you are speeding and you get a ticket, then continue speeding you will get another ticket. this is the same thing, i understand the frustration, but its your own fault...
just show your front plate or bracket and hopfuly it all works in your favour man!

ok so he says for me to take it to court with the proof of purchase of a plate bracket. they will throw out the ticket when i show it to them. does this mean i have to show it to a prosecutor who will then throw out my ticket or do i just show it to those booth ppl who do the payments and stuff?

You have to go the the court house, and set a first attendance meeting. Get all your paperwork together and go to the first attendance meeting, if the prosecutor wants to they'll drop it. If not, you have to take it to trial and they'll drop it there.
I wonder if you could somehow can find out the badge number of the first cop that pulled you over. That might be useful.

I agree.
People complaint about the cops even they are at fault, your car doesn't have a front plate, of cos the cop will stop you once they see it and I'm happy that they do that. You were still speeding knowing that you don't have the front plate, that give them more reaon to pull you over. I would go back to get my plate once I know I forget that, I wouldnt wait til the next day, I will drive back right away. Also, I will drive very becareful when I know I don't have my plate on....same when I forget my wallet at home and I'm driving, I will drive very careful and not take any chance to get pull over, cos I wont have my license on me.

Phil find out what area and what court house go early in the morning and say you wanna see a prosecutor and show her/him the stuff act all kind lol and they can take the ticket back if they dont then you will need to get a court date but go see a prosecutor first but its a 2-3 hour wait in a line lol & also show a pic of it on your car. i did this twice for broken muffler & blue side markers

wow... what an ... hole. I think it might happen soon or late that a cop going to pull me off as I'm still driving around with my Quebec licensed back plate only. My cousin who also drives a mazda 3 got pulled 2 times but during a whole year because she didn't have a front plate once and another time because she doesn't have her sticker. We don't have a front plate and we don't do sticker in Quebec. Then they tried to tell her the plate registration is expired while she just renewed it a month ago. Man I dunno how they can pass the visual test to enroll in the police force. they DONT read.
