I got tired of the sea of black plastic under the hood, so I lightened it up some, here are a few pictures of the results. ONe of the pics shows the A/C polished.

how much did that run you?

Any prep work needing to be done to the plastics before you paint?

for me i used one can of paint, it was like 25 for it and a can of clearcoat for 15. i just made sure the covers were nice and clean and then painted them. 3 coats of paint and 3 coats of clear.

here is mine. a bit dirty but you get the idea. ill get a pic of them clean when i get the chance

that looks real nice! What kinda paint did you use? I used the krylon fusion for my emblems...would that stuff suffice for this?

well i went to a paint shop here in ottawa with the paint code for the car and got them to mix it. so its car paint as thats what i asked for. i remember reading on the forums when i researched to do mine that some ppl have used krylon fusion paint. so i dont see y it wouldnt work for you.

I used Krylon Fusion and then sealed it with a high Temperature clear coat. I had some pieces done on My subaru for over 6 years and it was as good as the day I did it when I sold the car.
You also asked about Prep and cost, I wiped down the plastic with autobody grease and wax remover.
The cost is minimal one spray bomb of fusion and one high temp clear.
You need time and patience because the lettering and lines on the engine cover are all painted free hand, the zoom-zoom on the battery cover was done in two stages, the blue was painted first, then plastic lettering was put on, then the grey was sprayed over the whole cover and then the plastic lettering carefully removed to leave the zoom-zoom outlined in blue.
