"
Universal Pictures has given the greenlight to a fifth installment in the Fast and Furious franchise. The title for this one is being called “Fast Five.”
According to Variety, the studio has closed deals with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, director Justin Lin and producer Neal Moritz to return. Diesel and Walker didn’t feature in the third film returned for last year’s fourth installment, Lin has directed the two previous sequels, “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” and “Fast and Furious”, while Moritz has produced every film in the series since 2001 “The Fast and the Furious”.
Fast and Furious 5 will follow Dom (Diesel) and Brian (Walker) as “fugitives being pursued by legendary lawmen.”
The previous chapter, Fast & Furious, was released in the first week of April in 2009 along side indie favorite Adventureland and it steam rolled the mainstream box office market ultimately returning $350 million worldwide for the film.
Fast and Furious: Fast Five expects to begin shooting before the end of the year in time for a 2011 release."

As ridiculous as these movies are, I'd still watch it. Although they are horrible movies in terms of acting, plot, etc, they are still very entertaining.

If you want a plot, watch inception. This is all about cars and tesosterone! Nothing wrong with that. Next up.....the expendables.

To this day, I enjoy loading up the DVD of the first film, turning up the surround sound, and watching the scene near the end where Dom peels out of his driveway in his dad's muscle car. The director put that big block rumble thru all 6 speakers. It sounds like the earth is moving. Any car guy with a pulse can't help but be intoxicated by it. Hahaha.

what? they didn't ruin it, street racing was always shit and super illegal. The ppl that do it (especially in riced out pos cars on main roads) deserve to be shot and killed right on the spot.

:/ but thats just imo...

I think he means how more people street race because of the movie.

Somewhat correct.... Street racing used to be muscle cars out on a country road at 1am with no sidestreets and a spotter on the twoway radio at the other end. Never heard of any innocent people harmed or bs from this type of street racing. Even the police pretty much left us alone unless someone across a feild complained about the noise (un-corked V8's) and then it was just a cop showing up telling everyone to go home.

This movie played a large part in motivating young stupid kids with slow commuter cars to go out and race on highways and city streets, resulting in many innocent deaths and blanket street racing laws that ruined the original form of... I dare say.. Responsible street racing.

+1. Both were pretty awesome movies.

But I have to say I'm really excited to see this despite the gaping holes in the timeline (thought Han went to Tokyo after the last one? and how did Tyrese come back?). Guess I'm mostly just excited to figure out what really happened and how these guys got back into the movie :P

this topic is a dead horse.. there is no right or wrong answer... people can argue both sides fine... one point is kids are stupid and the ones who race shouldnt be in a car in the first place...
