Hi,

I am planning on getting HIDs for my 3. Just wondering, do I need to change it both for the low beams and the DRLs? I would assume so... What do members here usually do?

Thanks.

On the 2010, the DRL bulb is shared with the High-Beam. So most of us only replace the low-beam. It's not recommended to have a HID High-beam light due to the warm up time of the HID bulb.

Great! Thanks.. I was wondering about the high beam.... I guess nothing I can about the DRL... but I guess you can't see too much difference in the day anyways.

Yeah, don't put HID's in high beam! Asking for trouble there. Once you have HID's installed in the low beams, you won't even need to use the high beams at night. After installing the HID's, make sure you move the headlight aim down slightly so you don't blind everyone (the HID bulbs naturally cause a higher cut-off due to the length of the bulb)

the high beams still will over power the HIDs, i still had to use my high beams on the country roads last week when i was driving up to the cottage at night.
