I recently had my car repaired at Agincourt Mazda Collision Centre. After I picked my car up, I noticed that the lights no longer flash when I lock my car. And the horn and lights no longer sound or flash if I press my fob 2X.

This was working fine before my accident. I talked to the guys at the dealership and brought it back in. They tried to correct the problem but failed and are advising that it will take a day to diagnose the source of the electrical problem.

I read the manual, I think that it may be a programing issue between a car with an alarm vs. no alarm.

The car is still locking when I use the fob.

Any opinions, questions, suggestions, easy fixes?

Thanks :)

Please also note that the lights DO flash when I unlock the car.

The car may think one of the doors is still open......

in which general area was the damage and how severe was it? could be as simple as plugging back in the hood switch or if damage was severe enough could be a pinched wire. If you have a stock alarm gs i think gt for sure check under the hood in the center there will be a electrical connector from the car side and another for the hood switch. make sure that is hooked up. If the damage was in that general area there could be a wire break there

The car may think one of the doors is still open......

then you would have the light on the dash at all times

Take the car back to where you had the repair done.....

I think you might be right, at least it's worth a shot to check... This happened to me right after I had my e-test done and I was like AHHHH THEY BROKE MAH CARRR... then I realized later that night that my trunk hadn't latched shut completely. :loco :chuckle whoops

then you would have the light on the dash at all times
Surprisingly, if it's the trunk, you won't get the light!!!

EDIT: This is such an old post wtf.... lol

See, I want the opposite...I hate it when the lights flash when I unlock and lock my car.

well if you have a gs or gt you COULD potentially disconect the hood switch but I don't know how or if that would affect your stock alarm system

There is one wire in the main harness ( one on passanger side by the door) (right from the fuses) one of those wires is responsible for horn + lights for alarm.(i found out by grounding it accidentally while installing power locks and it honked and lighted up as if i was locking it even tho it doesnt have an alarm lol) . i forgot which one. google which colour for your year it is and then just ground it to check if it works there. if it works there but not by the alarm system, the easiest way would be to re-wire that one wire from fuses to your alarm control box. Finding a broken wire is hell. trust me you would have to strip the dash completely and look everywhere for pinch. just re-wire it to a working section of the cable.
