That Silva vs. Sonnen fight really surprised me. Sonnen would have won if he didn't become really complacent in that 5th round.
And holy crap, Roy Nelson is a god damn tank. I have no clue how he could stand up and take so much punishment. Shot after shot and he just took it like a champ lol.

I almost dont even want to think of this ppv cause of how Silva by pure luck of Sonnen coasting a little too much pulled off the choke. For 23 mins, he got his ass dominated.

Agreed. I really thought Silva would dominate Sonnen. In the later rounds, I thought maybe the fight would get stopped because of the nasty cut above Sonnen's eye. The triangle...wow...huge mental error from the challenger. But it shows, unlike a lot of other fighters(including Silva in prior fights), Sonnen stayed true to his word, and fought the entire way. He could have tried to dance around and stay out of trouble int he final round.

As mentioned.... I thoiught Silva was going to just pound on Sonnen. Silva got lucky as he was behind for the majority of the fight.

Maybe Silva's getting sloppy, after all he hasn't really been challenged by most of his opponants!. Damn Dana White!, Let GSP mop the floor with Silva!!

Roy Nelson almost reminds of Wesley "Cabbage" Correira in the way he takes the head shots.

Apparantly there's some talk of a possible rematch:

Here's my outlook on the fight......it was no different than the Silva/Hendo fight, basically same style of fighters. What happeend when Hendo took Silva down? Dry humping and hammer fists for the entire round, then second was an easy choke. Just took Silva longer to secure the sub with Sonnen. Hendo was sub'd by both Nog bros and Silva (all from the same camp).....Sonnen has like 90% of his losses being submissions after he's taken his opponent down.....I don't see why this fight was a shock for people. Only thing that was a bit surprising was that it took Anderson 4.5 rounds to finally sub him, but if the rumours of his rib injury were correct then it makes sense.

Oh, and there will be no rematch....why would the challenger get an immediate rematch....BJ got one because he was the champ and it was a controversial decision.
I'm more pumped to see Vitor get in there....Silva let Maia and Sonnen hit him flush in the face a few times, he lets Vitor do that and he's out cooooold

After the fight, Anderson said that the triangle choke was a tribute to the Nogueira brothers as that's where he got his black belt. Anderson took a hell of a beating and still overcame. Wasn't feeling the part where he had to explain his rib injury. Kind of discredited Sonnen's exceptional wrestling ability and it's just a damn shame Sonnen is so susceptible to subs.
I think Sonnen relaxed to much with his GnP.. You can see some sloppy ticky tack strikes in some exchanges where he just leaves his arm out there.
And having Fitch on the main card just sucks the life and soul of everybody watching live and at home. I was so pumped during the Dos Santos/Nelson fight, yet so sleepy during the Fitch fight. Way too hard of a comeback fight for Alves. How ironic the pitbull was the one that got dryhumped.
