As the title states, I'm looking for a reputable place in the Markham area to get my eyes checked and possible order a new pair of eye glasses. I've heard good and bad things about Hakim's as well as Lens Crafters. Pac Mall is not an option. Looking forward to your suggestions.
Thanx!!

Have your family doctor write up a referral for Dr. Goldberg.
He's on Kennedy Rd south of Sheppard.
Man is a effin genious.
He basically saved my left eye after my accident (almost 4 years ago) I was legally blind in my left eye for almost a week - and now only wear glasses when I'm at work staring at my monitor for 6hrs.

i can recommend Dr. Min C & Dr. Chong L at
20 Greenfield Avenue,
North York, ON M2N 3C8
416-221-8877
they tend to go beyond just a regular vision/pressure check and do a much more in-depth check up than most other optometrists I have seen

This will be useful for me. The last time I got my eyes checked, the doctor said I was good even though I had to squint to read some of the lines. :loco

For 50 bucks I'll come to markham and look at your eyes....
On a serious note...i've found that a private doctor is the best thing for your eyes...Most store based optometrists are there to make as much money as possible...especially when you consider that many are the owner of the location they are at.

Thanks for the info but I'm still looking for a family doctor since moving here...:complain

The referral is just so you don't pay for anything.
In that case - he's on the East side of Kennedy - just south of Sheppard. I believe it's has a Lasik sign on the yard. He's on the 2nd floor.
What's even better - he hates Lenscrafters and Hakim and those stores.

The referal I posted, is strictly an eye doctor, they do not resell glasses or contacts. That is why myself and my family have been going to them(Dr. Gold) for years.

i've been going to the same guy since I was younger. The private practices are definitely best, especially if you continually go to the same place.

I know it sounds bad. Other than seeing the ones at the hospital where I work, or trips to the walk in clinics, finding one that will take on new patients since moving here 3 yrs ago has been pita. Unless someone knows of any. :)

Apart from the ER visits, It took me 28 years to get a family doctor - and that's only because we had a baby and made sure she's always healthy. I don't give a shit about my health - it's hers I worry about

For a province that thinks so highly of itself, thats brutal and tells u the state of our healthcare system in Ontario.
