Anyone ever used companies like expedia, hotwire, priceline etc.????

I'm looking at doing a tip to orlando with the wife in february for the Daytona 500 and Disney. Some of these prices for a flight, hotel and 1 week car rental seem really good...too good.

Any good or bad experiences?

Remember, alot of these ads you see on line and in newspapers..... you still have to add applicable taxes. So week long trips you see for $500 or $600, are more like $1000 or $1100.

I used Expedia. Overall it was an alright experience; I have no complaints. Make sure you read the fine print though and read it carefully.

I've used Redtag.ca to book my flight to Cuba last year and had no problems.

If you can find a deal on expedia, a travel agent can get you the same deal. Find a good travel agent that you trust, and let them do it for you...Planning vacations through a travel agent is always the best!!

I've used expedia and the prices are pretty good. Make sure you look at the seating chart on the flight if it's available.

Next time I may just get a travel agent. Less work and headache.

We just booked our trip to Cuba through tripcentral, who booked it through nolitours for us. At first nolitours wanted $110 more than hollatours but the agent got them to price match. We got it for $802 person inc tax. Actually cheaper than booking through any last minute deals online.

We just went a to Orlando a couple of weeks ago. Booked through hotwire.ca. Hotel room (great pool, room ok, free breakfast $40/nite), flight was around $300pp (289? 298?). Car was $30/day (full size - aka Hyundai Sonata (could have picked a camry (ugh) or chrysler something (ugh ugh) or chevy something or other too ( :( )

The only unexpected tax was at the hotel - the site said 34 or 35/night. The hotel has a $6/night maintenance fee or something - so it came to 40/41/night. There was NO other unexpected taxes/fees.

Buy your tickets at the "discount tickets" places.

PM me if you want more tickets details.

I only use online
If you're going to Daytona I'd definatley fly out of Buffalo and save yourself some serious coin.
I flew to Los Angeles for $200 this year and my boyfriend and I are going to Vegas for 5 days in September for $400 (flight/taxes/hotel included staying at Planet Hollywood)

I use Orbitz, Travelocity (US), and LastMinuteTravel.com

I've also used RedTag in the past to book European flights from Toronto without any problems.

Yes!! Flying out of Buffalo to Vegas. These usually include one stop over but ****.. for $400
its 5 days/4 nights. I used lastminutetravel.com but you need to compare other sites too

Check and compare with bookit.com, travelocity.com, Orbitz (tends to be a big higher for Vegas packages but cheap for flights), Priceline and Expedia. If you have any more questions feel free just to PM me.

Word of advice: If you're using Hotwire, make sure you book at least a 4 or 5 star hotel.

I've had an experience booking a 3-star in Montreal thinking I'd be getting the Holiday Inn or similar, but I ended up with the crappiest hotel ever (which user reviews only gave a 1.5 star for, but according to Trip Advisor and Hotels.com it was given a 3 star for some stupid reason). I felt like I was in some mouldy old lady's house and had to spend the entire weekend in that dump.

Only cost you the gas if you can bribe a family member with coffee and the promise of a returning gift from duty free....

We're in KW so can't exactly walk to Pearson. Cost to park at pearson is about $60 for a week. Parking at buffalo was $55 for 8 days. The customs are a breeze, the people are friendly and you only have to be there 50 minutes before the flight (or 10 minutes if you have no checked luggage). From pearson it's a pain because it's an international flight so everything takes longer.

Besides, you can fill up at $0.75/L on your way back :) and don't forget to buy some yogurt and m&m's too (more variety and MUCH lower prices)
