I've searched all over and came up with nothing! :bang
So....I hope someone on this board knows. What size do I buy? 2.25" or 2.5"??

thanks for the quick reply Phil.

The reason its so confusing is because on the site it says the vibrant exhaust is 2 3/8 which becomes 2.375" which is weird!

Can anyone confirm its 2.25"?

yes 2.25 will work i put a magnaflow on mine to tone down the exhaust....especially cruising on the highway.

let me know how the ultraquiet works for you.

Folks keep in mind he is asking about installing this on a vibrant exhaust. The UQ resonator is measured in inner diameter, but iirc, the cbe is not. That is the source of confusion.

Your best bet is to call the Vibrant tech line and ask them.

I got an email today from vibrant.

Hello Benjamin,

Thank you for your email and for support our product line.

In response to your question, you will need our 2.5” resonator.

Hopefully that helps.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any other questions or concerns.

Best regards,

no prob em3

I had mine installed at a muffler shop I believe either way (2.25 or 2.5") you need some sort of adapter or a bit of metal work to connect the two

If you buy the correct id there is no adapter needed for this install. The UQ resonator has a small section of pipe already afixed to both the inlet/oulet. A competent exhaust shop will be able to cut out the precise section of pipe from the CBE to allow the UQ resonator to be installed. A competent welder will be able to butt-weld the resonator in place.

I encourage you to call Alex at Exotic Motoring in Markham for your install.

I've been running this setup (Vibrant CBE w/ Vibrant UQ Resonator) on the '07 for the last couple of years now. No issues. Love it. Sounds good to me :)

Good question....... I don't know. I never knew there was different sizes.

I had the Vibrant CBE installed first, then found the sound a little too loud to my liking. So I went ahead and ordered the Vibrant UQ resonator. I just said it was for the Vibrant CBE I have on my 2007 Mazda3........... !?!?!?!?!

I got my UQ Res. from peter nextmod- 2.5 diameter is what you need... However the place i went to install it [i believe it was art motorsport in richmondhill] recommended a bigger size for a more secure weld. They called up peter to see if they could switch it up to 3, but no dice. It's all good thou, they made it work with the 2.5 diameter with my vibrant exhaust. Toned it down a bit. Love it :)

I have Vibrant Headers/UQR/Catback..the works. My car is the loudest 3 I know thus far (with a legal setup...straight pipes don't count =P) and I've got a ticket to prove it...hahaha. I can only imagine what it'd be like without the UQR.

Sounds great though!

Can't recall the size on the UQR =S

I have vibrant header and vibrant exhaust, no UQR and I never got a ticket (*knock on wood*)
