Im going Turbo

hey guys ... so i have some extra cash around ... ive decided to use it on a turbo kit ....

now i dont know shitt all about turbo or what i would even need ... i did some searching / reading but all the posts are old and may be out of date ...

so my question is ...

where to buy turbo kit for mazda 3 hatch ....

will this kit come with everything i need?

any other parts i have to buy seperate?

I would do this first before you even consider getting a kit.

because you have an automatic i personally wouldn't put a turbo kit on your car unless you have some extra cash for a new tranny

trust me if i new the auto trannies were strong i would have slapped a turbo kit on long time ago

ive read that it doesnt matter if the car is auto? and ive seen other cars like a saab 9-3 with a turbo on automatic

MYTH: An ATX (auto tranny) cant be boosted.
FACT: Both ATX and MTX can be boosted.The ATX is ok at stock levels but dont expect to go big boost without putting some money on beefing up the tranny. Most people go MTX because its more common and is proven to hold the power when properly tuned and maintained.

thats because they have stronger transmissions that are built for that kind of power. ours were only built for NA applications. take Boris for example. he had a turbo on his automatic and guess what happened. he blew the thing. at 9 p.s.i. just in case you want to know. if you do run the setup the max you can run before you hit problems is 6. which is no boost at all.

Saab's are built from the factory that way. All the R&D put into making them work together.

Boris had an automatic on his 3 then turbocharged it. We all know what happened there.

Up front I'll say this. The cash you have is likely not enough, so don't go blowing your wad yet. Since you "don't know sh!t" my advice to you is spend weeks reading about forced induction. You need to understand what is involved in boosting any car. Then refine your reasearch to mazda 3's so you know the limits of boosting this car.

You can get kits from many places (F2, Tripoint, others are cropping up). These kits may, or may not have everything you need. My comment is seemingly vague, but after you spend the recommended weeks researching forced induction, then mazda 3's, you'll realize exactly what you need. A quick example, you'll need a laptop to tune, guages, something to read and clear CEL's, etc.

Use the forum search engine. We have made epic posts about this topic, BUT, don't be so narrow in focus that you rely on this forum as your primary source of info for FI. Relatively few ppl here are, or have ever, boosted a car. You really need to get out there and start reading from reliable resources (and as many of them as possible).

I hope I don't sound negative, but it doesn't sound like you are prepared for what can happen with FI and this car; blown 3rd and 4th gear, overboosting, vroom vroom boom.

Yes definetely to put turbo into your car ATM is stupid you just end up spending more on replacing your tranny.
Tranny swap is costly aswell from auto to manual many people have done it to there cars, lots of components you will need
At that point its just better off trading your 3 in for a manual 3 and boost it OR buy a Speed

I think you shoudl invest in a red switch... that turns on ur A/C full blast for like 2 seconds.. so it sounds like you are using turbo lolllll

Or you could do the leaf blower mod. or just run some tubing into the cabin from your intake, do a Y, and have a tube go to each seat, drive around with a bunch of guys, and everytime you punch it, everyone blows in their respective tubes at the same time...HOMEMADE TURBO
