I'm in the area of Riviera Maya. The trip has been pretty intense as there has been alot going on.... tours, trips, drinking, drinking, and more drinking. I'm so tanned/ dark, that the locals speak to me in spanish as they think I'm Mexican... hahaha.

Just on the comp. as I'm checking through work emails....

My fave area! Make sure you go see TULUM! Its insane. The bus is mad cheap and it picks you up at your resort
I stayed at Gran Porto Real in Playa Del Carmen... loved it

probably because theres been an intensive drug war going on for about two years now between cartels and the mexican government (army and police) and the cartels dont give a crap who gets in the way of their bullets

Thx for the info, I didnt know about that. But people are actually telling me that more Canadians are now getting hurt in Mexico, NOT drug related.

I still Mexico its one of my fave places to travel. Obviously use common sense... my friends fiance got beat up and robbed by a cabby in Cancun. So dont travel alone :P

Ouch. That sucks. Reminds me of the Simpsons episode when they go to Brazil and the cab driver has a marquee on his car that changes to HOSTAGE/NO HOSTAGE. lol
