Hey Guys, I've been on this site for a while but haven't posted anything. I just wanted to say Thank you. I have been looking into buying a 3 for a long time and this website is an absolute wealth of knowledge. Made the process very easy in terms of things to be concerned about and what to look for.

I am now the proud owner of a 2005 Mazda 3 S. Copper Red(I think that's the official colour?.. it's the coppery orange one). I love it. No rust under body. I am the 3rd Owner and got a decent deal. I drove a protege for my first car and it just recently started falling apart. I love my Mazda's and bang for your buck, there just isn't any. The HB is perfect for when I am moving to/from school and everything in between.

I do like cars and mods and would like to do a couple little things. I wouldn't mind getting those Eyelids and a stubby. I also want to do Rims (hopefully this winter as my Protege had nice ones and I will miss them) and lower it(I'm open to suggestions on preferred makes(I use brackets alot apparently)).

Anyway,

Thanks again guys, I'm pumped for my new Mazda 3

EDIT: "Bang for your buck... there just isn't anyTHING THAT COMPARES" .... my bad. Too excited, left out some words

Welcome! Agree about the bang for the buck. Lots of nice bells and whistles on mine. Tinted yet?

No, I knew I forgot something. How dark would everyone recommend?

Legal is about 35% front and pretty much whatever you want rear. Some do 17 or 20% front and rear. But some prefer 35% all around. You can see what I did below. You will get various recommendations here.

Welcome Abroad... Tint is a personal choice of course. I went 23% all around. It was the best balance between privacy and night time vision.

A random question. My old Protege, in the user Manual it called for 91 Octane, so that's what I used. In this manual it calls for the base octane... but has anyone noticed a difference using a higher Octane?

No difference except in my warped mind it went faster.:loco Stick to the base one. It will save you money.

This is awesome. There is so much info on here. I wouldn't mind showing up to a meet if you guys have them. I'd love to meet some other Mazda guys and maybe get some ideas for things I can do to my car/places to get them done. I am from London and there on the weekends but live in Burlington during the work week. Anyone else around?

Welcome Abroad...

What's up with this? Is this a meme of some sort? Obviously, the common usage is "Welcome aboard". You know, like something Captain Stubing would use as a greeting on "The Love Boat".

"Welcome Abroad" doesn't really make sense, and might be technically impossible. To my mind it means, "welcome away".

Welcome to the brother hood !
For tints I went 35% then 15% loooks sweet, got it done in Woodbridge at Lazer Tint. They did an amazing job!. Had a older mazda and i did 35% all around the car, so i decided this time around do darker in the back but keep it legal in the front.

My pick on the profile shows it, should post more pics up shortly

Congrats, you are the first person to notice. I was wondering when someone would say something. I like to go against the grain of society... lol

Just to clarify this, and assuming you're in Ontario, there is no defined legal limit for tints on the front side windows. Though 35% has been established as being a % that cops will not bother you about, at the same time, if a cop feels like being a dick, he can pull you over for any amount of tint.

Welcome to TM3!
I always tell everyone to go for 5% all around because I've been cruising over 200km/day for months with 5% tint and haven't ever been pulled over, and I like the aggressive look it gives.

Not gonna lie, this made me lol :)

and bang for your buck, there just isn't any

haha I know. I read it over after I posted it and laughed. Thanks for the welcome. I do quite enjoy this site. There is a ton of info and what not. Everyone here seems to be pretty nice too. I'd like to meet up with some people if there is ever a cruise night or something! I live in Burlington during the work week and London on the weekends.
