View Full Version : Hit my rear bumper

Ok so i was backing up and hit my rear bumper against the wall :bang. now the good thing is it dint dent my bumper. bad thing is paint is off :flaming and there is 1 big scratch. how much will it cost me to either blend the paint or get it repainted:(.

Got pictures? Perhaps its not as bad as it sounds and the damage is only on the clearcoat.

If you are going to get it repainted, I got quotes of ~$250 or so to paint my rear bumper.

yeah the clear coat is gone and its not too bad but its quite noticable. i just need about 5-10cm of paintwork. will post the pics soon

This sounds about right. Get it repainted. A reblend won't look as good.

Ah, sorry to hear that chan.

My friend had my car in his garage and he was jacking the car up while the trunk was open, and bam the latch thing you step on left this

i say just use paint pen or something... if it's not TOO bad.

and.. next time some idiot rear ends you.. get a new rear bumper.

You can try a heavy duty wax compound(ScratchX 2.0/Meguars Ultimate Compound), or use some VERY wet VERY light grit sandpaper to remove the scratches.(Lots of DIY pages online) But if you don't know what you're doing, I would suggest going to someone for a repaint. (Ie. Unibody)
