Just bought myself a bold 9700 yesterday wondering what cases you guys are rocking, im still undecided which one to go with. Either going to stop by vaughan mills or pacific mall for mine.

I use the stock leather holster my 9700 came with. Find it the most convenient and protective.

If you dont mind OEM for a while, I'd order one off ebay...cheaper probably and more selection but gotta wait for it to arrive.

I use one of those OEM silicon (or whatever it is) cases. I also have an invisible shield on it, which protects it from scratches and crap.

+1 on ebay. Who cares if the quality isn't as good. You can't beat the price. I bought a silicone case for my HTC legend for under $2 shipped to my door.

One word: Otterbox.

Saved my phone on two occasions. Score: Concrete -0, Cell phone - 2.

Otterbox Commuter.

I just got my Bold 9700 on Friday night and I got the Otterbox Commuter Series. It's an AWESOME case and it's not bulky at all. It'll definitely save your phone more than anything short of the crazy-intense Otterbox case that you can basically throw at a wall with no issue. It comes with a good screen protector as well.

It's pricey but well worth the money. The regular 'gummy' skins are thin, cheap and don't do much in the way of protection; this offers all of the advantages of those whilst still being quite protective. Go try one because other than the price, it's the best there is.

I don't really use my silicone case as a way of protecting my phone from falls. I know the case is thin and doesn't offer really any collision protection, but I only really use it because I enjoy the extra grip it provides. I'm not willing to spend a ton of money on something I really don't need. A $2-$5 thin silicone case is all I need (in addition to the invisible shields).

I don't use the otterbox but its a great case indeed. The only reason i am not using it is because I need a holster.

My gf has the otter box and I agree, it's a great case but comes with a not-so-great price. Overall though I think it's worth it. Buying a nice phone and sticking it in a cheap looking rubber is kind of silly, making the phone cheap looking as well.

I, on the other hand, just have a pleather pouch just to avoid the phone from getting scratched. The phone detects when it's in the pouch making it go standby/lock automatically just like the original holster it came with.

i use the Incipio ultra light feather. provides good protection, comes with a screen protector, and is only 1mm thick.

I use the Blackberry oem silicone case... i get them free from work; the 9700 cases don't fit too well though, and it sucks if you have the phone in your pocket with other papers, stuff sticks to it pulling the phone out

You'd think lol but I bought it because I got a sweet plan and a number that's local to the area of my school (519/226 area code).

I have a Curve 3G (9300) that is in one of the $10 pac mall cases that is intended for the 8520. It fits nicely but the 9300 is slightly (a millimeter or so) larger overall so it won't close perfectly. I'd rather go with a cheap ($10) case that I won't mind getting damaged. One guy at PacMall tried to sell me an OtterBox look-a-like called the "OuterBox". :D

+1 for OEM holster, I find its too bulky in the pocket, and to many things in my pocket that could scratch it, car keys, change... (even though its a work phone). Holster means no fumbling through my pockets when I am trying to answer it.

From someone who works in the industry, Otterbox is the way to go. +100 for the TM3'rs who are already rocking the COMMUTER. I had it on my 9700.
THE ONLY THING. dont get the otterbox for the TORCH 9800. A LOT of problems with it.

Why use a case?
I have a 4" screen and I don't even use a screen protector. Just be careful lol
