Do you guys buff out your scratches with rubbing compound when your cars clean or dirty? Some people do it when its clean, and some say buffing it out it makes a mess(thats if your using a machine) and you should do it before you wash the car.

How do you guys normally do it?

I would definitely NOT buff out a dirty car. All the dirt and and crap on your car would cause further scratching/

to my understanding it's wash -> clay -> wash -> polish/wax

If it is only one scratch you don't have to wash the whole car but you MUST clean the area you are working on.

to my understanding it's wash -> clay -> wash -> polish/wax

wash-> clay -> swirl remove/scratch product -> sealer -> wax -> detailer. Then you should have a mirror finish lol

+1 cuz then like steven said, you'd basically be grinding sh*t into your paint

What products would be the best to buy from somewhere local such as CT or WM?

Ive checked out the clay bar kit from WM which is provided by Meguires as well as a few others detailing products provided by the same company as well as Nu-Finish.

For the process you wrote down, which products would be best for the job?
