Hi all,

Does the North American version of the Mazda 3 have folding side mirrors? I tried to bend them but they seem very solid. Some Mazda 3 in other countries have power folding mirrors.

Please let me know.

Thanks.

My '05 folds both ways (front & rear) but not powered. So '04-'09 should be the same.

It's probably designed to "break-away" on impact in case you hit something so that it folds instead of breaking off.
So folding forward doesn't fold all the way while folding to the rear folds in all the way.

If you want powered you can buy after market (not sure but you might have to replace the entire side mirror).

just an FYI so that nobody assumes wrong and expects differently... those mirrors linked are aftermarket parts, not genuine mazda ones... mazda doesn't have any mirrors that come with both of those lights (but there's an addon kit available from the dealer for the LED turn signals)... on the factory setup, the "fold" button is going to be in front of the mirror adjustment switch (a round button, nothing really fancy)... all aftermarket kits uses a mismatched button (styling shape matches only the protege, 5, 6, etc) to fit next to the dimmer switch

I ran those power folding aftermarket mirrors for e years at least no problems what so ever. Didn't care either that they were aftermarket. Main thing is they turned heads

^ Interesting. I wouldn't mind seeing pictures of this. I did it to my previous EG, but interested to see how they would look on a Mazda3.

Nope. Put your hand on the back of the mirror housing and shove toward the rear of the car.... they will fold.

Lol, trying to hide from the camera? lol

Looks nice, where did you pick them up and where did you get them painted?
Do they fold only when the car turns on and off?

Nextmod carries them. I believe they have 1 set left. Nextmod arranged for the painting. The Auto Folding on power is a work in progress...on both our cars. You can manually fold them in via an in cabin switch.
