Having an issue with my power door locks -- about 75% of the time, as soon as I stick the key in the ignition, the door locks start "vibrating". They don't fully lock, but looks like they are going lock then go right back to unlock. This stops most of the time after tuning the key to ON but not all the time, sometimes I have to turn it off (still keeps doing it even if I pull out the key) and back on a few times before it stops.
Any thoughts?

Do you have an aftermaket car alarm that engages the locks? Sounds like you have some electrical issues with your car.

Sticking the key in the ignition should cause the map/dome lights to come one. Shouldn't impact the door locks at all. So it sure sounds like something is crossing the two up...

There is a remote starter but it hasn't worked (was in there before I bought the car). I just may try to remove that since it's useless anyways; thanks.

That's probably the source of the problem... the remote start will need to have a keysense module and also ties into the door locks...

good chance that the remote starter may be causing these issues but considering the fact that it has not been working in a while i would hat to brake it to you but sounds like your body control module may be starting to go

what happens when you hit lock/unlock on your factory keyfob or switch?
does it make same noise? then there is a chance door lock motor is going out.
