My clutch has recently started to squeak when I press or release the clutch. Usually when the car has been sitting for several hours.
Is this a simple fix, or what am I looking at here (on a side note, my car seems to be falling apart at the 2 year mark......lots of problems all arising at once, but thats another story, and another wallet I dont own lol)

There was a thread about this a while back, try searching. People got their clutch pedal replaced under warranty.

I saw a thread from 2005.......not sure how relevant an almost 6 year old thread is. It seemed people were having the entire clutch assembly replaced, which seems a bit much for something that just squeaks.

This is the thread I was referring to: http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?45580-Creaking-clutch-pedal.
The dealership will lubricate the mechanism first and if that doesn't resolve the issue they replace the pedal.

No problem... Does yours squeak at the top of the travel only?

It squeaks when pressing and releasing.....hard to say where it happens. I guess its near the top, but its more continuous throughout the entire clutch. Ive got a service appointment today, so we will see what they have to say and if its under warranty

Let us know the outcome, I wonder if it's something you can just spray some WD40 onto or something.

I have this problem - it's almost like a creaking sound, right? I've lubed it with the white lithium grease and I've still got the issue. Seemed to go away for a while but it's hard to say what fixed it (for the short time it lasted) considering I dropped out/reinstalled my tranny 3 times in a week about a month ago. My throw-out bearing seems to be alright, so I'm not sure what but it all works so I just keep driving her. =)

was replaced under warranty. the clutch piston was no good and had to be replaced, was about a 2 hour job to do, so I imagine if I had to pay for it it would have been expensive, but thankfully my amazing car thats falling apart in two years still has warranty left.

Hey - Which dealership did you get yours fixed at and how many visits did it take to get it all resolved?

I have a 2008.5 Mazda3 Sport GS. I've reported this problem to my dealership at least 3 times, and each time they just spray some lube. Finally they replaced the clutch pedal and switch assembly yesterday. Unfortunately, it started squeaking again after 10 km of driving! :( So I'm back to square one again.... I think this problem is heat related. Seems to happen only when the engine has warmed up. Had a similar problem on my 2001 Protege a few years ago, and it was determined to be the release/throwout bearing. Ever since I replaced the clutch on the Pro, I've never had a squeak.
I'm trying to get this resolved before the warranty expires next year.

The OP's problem was the master clutch cylinder, perhaps yours is the same.
