Hey all.

I was thinking about purchasing a TurboXS down pipe / race pipe combo off someone but wanted to ask about emissions. Has anyone taken an MS3 in for emissions testing with a race pipe installed? I am wondering if I would have to remove it for testing or might it pass without one of the factory cats?

This way is a lot cheaper than going with a catted DP so it's pretty tempting if it's not too much hassle.

the NA mazda3's seem to pass just fine with only one cat, so i'd imagine you'd be fine.

I'm pretty sure the turbo xs pipe is catless.... meaning no cat at all. This would not be good for emissions or if you got pulled over for inspection by the MTO. I was going to buy it a while back, but decided against it when I discovered it was catless.

how many cats do the MS3's have? 1 or 2?

I think it has 2, both of which I just found out would be eliminated. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

lol if both eliminated then you can't pass emission for sure, and you car will smell really bad... lol

DP replaces one and then the TP replaces the other.

the turbo xs system removes both cats... unless you only get the downpipe, but what's the pont in that? Just get the CPE catted downpipe and cut out your resonators.
