Hmmm....has anyone else had problems with Google redirecting you away from the stuff you really need? For example at work, i'm on google, and I typed in an Engineering company's name to get the contact info...I get a bunch of links under the heading of the company name I put in, but when I click on the links it takes me to various advertisement pages completely unrelated. And if I click back, it redirects me automatically to the same advert page. WTF?? Anyone else?

I havent had this problem, but this issue might explain their gain in revenue this year :chuckle

The company said its average cost per click rose three per cent from a year ago, meaning companies paid more to place ads. People clicked on ads 16 per cent more than they did in the same period last year.

thats a virus...hands down...google "search engine hijack" and you'll see (at least the links)....I had the same one...all i did was run the PC restore setting in Win XP and it will restore your PC back to original settings....you should save all your personal data/docs though....otherwise, cleanest option is to reimage your machine

+1
Definitely a hijack virus. You can do as above or run your antivirus software or both to get rid of it or at least quarantine it. Best is to reimage it with your tech dept.

for most malware out there, you'll need a combo of A/V spybot, Adware etc and hiJackThis. plus knowledge of regedit surgery

Try using Malwarebytes.... it's one of the most aggressive spyware/virus cleaners out there, and it works well.....
