View Full Version : vw jetta airbag light?
My warranty ran out couple months ago, but i recently got an airbag light on the dash. Ive tried posting on vw forums but no body answers there. The most useless forums on the net. Any ideas?
Ive tried making sure the wires on the seats are secured, fuses are all perfect. Dont know what it could be. Gonna cost me almost 400 to do it at dealer which is the biggest ripoff ever. I could get new rims with that money!

And that's why I will never own another VW ever again! What they want for parts is criminal.

Do you have an aftermarket radio in the car? I've heard of them sometimes messing with some of the components of the car.

VW electrical gremlins strike again... The problem with that is that there very well could be something wrong with your airbag sensors, it could just be moisture. When you say that the dealership will charge you $400 to "do it", what do you mean? Check why the light is coming on? If that's the case, time to move on to another dealership.
Unfortunately, while a good number of us have ODBII readers on this forum, if a sensor is giving incorrect readings, we can only clear the code.

among other things it could be one of the sensors OR if it has side airbags - could be a wire that runs through the seat broken (common problem on certain models).
also, what year is your car? did you replace your antenna recently?
