I was putzing around and somehow my keyboard changed to showing the red lettering when I hit shift.
For example, if I want a question mark, I get this : É
WTF to do É!!!!
How do I change it back É!!!

Press CTRL + SHIFT on the left side of your keyboard at the same time, that should switch it back. é?éÉ??????????????!!#!&#^!#$
Happens to me all the time, it's annoying as hell.

you gotta turn that option off in windows or it'll keep happening. Go to the control panel and then find your way to Keyboards. It's in there under one of the tabs.

I think it's working now, see ?
Somehow it was changed to HID keyboard fron P2P.
Merci, M. Bisson.
ps: BTW, this all new to me as this is my first laptop.
Toshiba Satellite AMD Furion P520 Dual Core / 4 Gig Ram / 500 Gig HD / Windows 7 (and I'm used to MS Windows XP Pro using the '98 display mode.)

Did you get your keyboard sorted out?
If it still doesn't work right, you can look here:
Click Start, type in "keyboards" and Windows will pull up the Keyboards tab of the Regions and Languages settings. Click the Change Keyboard button and make sure everything is set to English........

Pretty cool calculator! Imagine toting that around!
As for the keyboard, I did all of that, and it ended up being that somehow the board changed to HID from P2P.
It's all good now, eh?
Thanks, guys!
