So, I just got my tires swapped out today and I found out that I don't have any TPMS. Not a huge deal, since they're a pain in the butt anyway. Just curious, do the older models have TPMS?

+1. No TPMS and be thankful for it. Largely useless and trouble-prone feature.

This is great news indeed! That means my 2010 Sport GX won't have them either! :)

Canadian models don't have TPMS.

Super thankful. Saved me a bunch of money and headache too. My old car had them and when I switched rims, I'd have to clear the warning light on the dash every time I started the car.

So US models did?

Worst thing to a tuner/enthusiast.

My Mitsu has TPMS.
- can't remove and switch between OEM, summer aftermarket and winter rims because they're designed to break upon removal.
- They are about $75/each from the dealers PLUS install
- can't have more than 1 set programmed at a time. Which means even if you did find another set for winters, you still need to pay $90 everytime you switch back over to summers.

All this just so you don't have to take a $3 tire gauge to check the air pressure.

So US models did?

I think it's mandatory for new cars in the US since 2007 model year.

This is the best news EVER!!! :werd We have a Mitsu in our stables as well and swtiching from summers to winters has been a pain every year, that TPMS light is so annoying and Default User you are right all that just not have to use the tire gauge!!

their are different kinds of moitoring systems. Mmanufacturers use the sensor style which is just a pain in the A$$. my moms murano has it and i have had to replace 3 sensors sofar. 2 in 1 shot and 1 more at another time. Mind you however the sensors were 6 years old and average battery life expectancy is only 5 years. Then their is the style which picks up the rotation of the wheel. Once it notices that their is a change between one of the wheels it triggers a light BUT the valve stems are still the regular rubber ones. I wished that the speeds had it but selavi.
