an impromptu biography

I don't know if anybody already mentioned this. I searched and came up with nothing. This happened a few months ago but I just came across it today.

The automotive world and especially the car enthusiast world has lost a great man. This guy was the chief test driver for Toyota. He basically had a hand in creating everything that was ever the least bit sporty from Toyota including the Celica, Supra, and LF-A.

This guy was 66 years old and was still very active in racing and on off days would attack the mountain roads in his native Japan. He holds the most seat time on the Nurburgring than any other Japanese driver. People over at Ferrari calls him the man who knows the worlds roads. Such is the passion he has for motorsport and cars in general.

Its people like him that keep cars interesting for us. His feedback is vital to improving the driving feel and sporty characteristics in a car. If it were only up to engineers, we'd have nothing but corolla, camry and their equivalent on the road.

Now he's gone.
