View Full Version : Car Wash and Antenna
Do you guys remove your antenna when going through a car wash (be it touchless or not)? I have the OEM antenna on my '06 Sport GT.

I once had a stubby antenna and went through an Esso rail-less/touch-less wash but it turned out the dryer/blower still rolled over the car as you drive out. As it rolled over my stubby it snapped it off. I've since switched to sharkfin.

if you love your car, take off the antenna, lol. i used to work at a canadiantire carwash that broke a whole lot of stuff you wouldn't even believe, so it depends on the carwash. touchless should be no prob though, i have a brand new gt so i only go to the petro touchless because i got their season pass

I always go to Petro (yes, Petro Points FTW) ;) and have been curious about the seasons pass. How much is it!?

IIRC there are two types. The cheaper one is $150 and the Glide one is $170. I think you can get some bonus petro points for buying either also.
I have since gotten a stubby from the Cx-7. I have gone through one touchless so far without removing the stubby and no problems.
I did go through one PetroCanada soft cloth wash (while I still had the whip antenna but it was removed for the wash) and thought that the soft touch did a MUCH better job of getting rid of the salt, etc than the touchless.
If I opt to go through the soft cloth again, I will certain remove the stubby.
