If you can get in now I would, and that's just personal preference. I would think you'd want to have it done before winter because it helps with all the salt/moisture etc. You can always get it done in Nov. this year, and take it in a bit earlier next year.
Rust proofing can been done any time of the year

Oil Spray rustproofing can be done anytime of year. Definitely better to get it done before the winter than to wait.

about an hour. But only because there was someone ahead of me. The actual rustproofing didn't take long at all.

I don't know if this is a stupid question or not, but for the 2010's do they have to drill holes in order to apply the rustproof material? (sorry to get off topic)

if you haven't had rust proofing on the car before they do drill holes where they need to & put black plugs

cool. Thanks bro. Just unsure what method's people are using nowadays, which is why I'm debating whether or not to get it done.

Make sense.. that's what I've read before, just unsure if there is a way around the drilling on the 2010's.

If you don't want holes drilled in the car check us out, we do not drill holes. Th vehicle has plenty of factory holes to spray the rustproofing in without damaging the car.

Listen to the recommendations of the people doing the rust proofing, not one's getting it done. Krown recommends you do it in spring/summer.
Rust is a chemical reaction which is propagates proportional to temperature. Negative temperatures means rust won't spread as fast, positive temperatures means it will.
Also, salt and humidity being higher in winter, will eat away at the rustproofing liquid. So rustproofing before winter, means when you get into spring and summer, the protection layer you put on is now weakened when you need it the most (when rust actually spreads).
Ideally, you do it 2x a year; before and after winter. For best protection, you should do it after winter. For mediocre, do it before winter.

I think the idea is that it's better to get it done before any salt is on the ground, and has made it to your components.
That said, getting it done at all, no matter when, is obviously a big improvement over not doing it at all, and probably only marginally worse to getting it done earlier.

I just had mine last Saturday, well actually my 1st one for my GT, straight from the dealership. Was trying to beat the rain :bang, I know it's kinda late but better late than never. Peter from Krown did say that the best time is during summer, the product sets faster and evenly. I plan on doing one again come spring.

Hope this thread is still active! I just picked up my M3 2011 last week and haven't gotten it rust proof yet. People have been recommending me to go to Krown, but since its in the middle of winter, I'm unsure if I should wait till spring or get it done right away. Sadly, its been salted up in the snow for a week now and I'm a little nervous as I like for it to be protected...but with the cold weather, would there be any point?
Doesn't the car come with some kind of temporary stock coating?

Well, all I remember them saying is that the car doesn't come undercoated or anything. They were trying to sell me all those packages which are insanely expensive and everyone I spoke to said not to go with it. I don't want to ask them again cause I know they will tell me stories and sell it to me.. But yeah, the sales guy did a pretty damn good job convincing too.

his job is to be convincing. lol
Better late than never as far as rustproofing goes. Though the idea of trapping salt particles between panels and the rustproofing layer isn't at all desirable... maybe a through under-spray wash before the coating is applied?

Your right. Just went to Krown Lakeshore this morning and they finished it in 45 minutes. Bunch of friendly guys down there and I got the TM3 discount which is great. They said it shouldn't be a problem getting it during the winter time, but said its better to get it applied in the summer or late fall. I feel much better now. Thanks.
