But my Google skills are failing me and the previous topics didn't seem to elaborate too much on this subject. I have a 2006 Mazda 3 2.3L and it's spark plug time! I was told that the ITR6F13 part number 4477 (NKG Iridium) were the plugs for my engine. Of course after I bought the plugs from the big truck/series of tubes, I hear rumblings about this plug being only for 2004-2005 models.
Am I going to kill my car by using these plugs? Would there be a noticeable difference? By giving my car the power to shoot sparks, does it essentially become a Pikachu? If so, what is the factory spec Pokeball so that I can save on parking fees?
In exchange, comedy

Lol. I was playing pokemon red the other night on my android... sad, sad world.
I would also like to know what plugs for my 06 2.0 sedan!
Why not get the spark plugs from the dealer if your not sure which ones??

ngksparkplugs.com has an excellent parts search tool for you to find the right plugs for your car... NGK "Laser Iridium" plugs are what came in some of these cars and are the correct ones to use... you CANNOT mix the 04-05 plugs with the 06-09 plugs! the lengths are completely different due to different style heads! if you put the wrong plugs in, it may smash into your piston or won't run at all!
if your information gathering skills are lacking, then don't play the guessing game... get them from the dealer!

Yeah, did a quick search... using 2005 Mazda 3 2.3L as an example, and it came up as part 4477. Switched to 2006 model and the part number changed to 3811. I say trust what NGK says.

Thank you all for the awesome clarification and also pointing me to NKG's site. Luckily I have a friend who has an '04 so it looks like he's getting spark plugs for Christmas XD
As for why I didn't buy from the dealer? They want $30 per plug. That's more than twice as much than what NKG charges for the same thing :flaming

Saw a set of 4 on ebay for $50, free shipping. Reputable seller.

I just changed my plugs for my 2.0
after researching and buying a couple of (wrong) pairs, I gave up and got them from the dealer.
Made my way with some small talk with the associate and was able to land a discount on them

i'm gonna need to replace the spark plugs on my '05 so thanks for this thread -
is it possible to get 4477 (NKG Iridium) locally, like canadian tire etc, not through the dealer?
seems like they dont have the exact OEM ones (the 4477s)

Clubplug.ca also has the OEM 4477 for $17.82 per plug
Stock Number Part Number Manufacture Description Price Sold as

canadian tire didn't seem to have those in stock for the 3's :(
so instead they recommended "e3" spark plugs
we'll see how those go i guess (hoping no one here has any horror stories of those)
got an e-test done afterwards and passed with flying colours

any plug pretty much won't matter immediately after you put them in... they're all going to give about the same performance and emissions... but you put enough miles on them, and the differences show up... some plugs are so crappy that the engine starts running horribly!
stick with NGK or Denso, they make the best plugs in the world and Japanese cars seem to run best with them... otherwise, you can fall back to Motorcraft plugs since this is pretty much a Ford engine afterall ;)

Thanks for the info! I was going to install the NGK G-Power plugs tomorrow, but seems like they're a no go with my 06' 2.3L.
