Here's a pic of the cabin in the winter months. I got 4 acres of bush along with another 11000 acres of trails and old mining trails. The property is right beside an old ski resort that closed down 30 years ago. I even got a stream across from me for wicked trout and salmon fishing.

I thought I would not be saying this, but I think I fell in love with a new car tonight on the way home from work tonight. It's a 2013 Hyundai Genesis 2.0 Rspec in white. The car is simply bad ass and the facking thing looks fast just sitting there in the parking lot. The asking price for the car is 30k, and I can't believe for the price of the car includes brembro brakes, leather interior, forged rims, and a twin scroll turbo etc. I told the wife about the car and she said it was ok to buy it. The sad thing is that I gotta let the speed go and honestly I don't want to let the car go since a lot of blood sweat and tears went into that car. So basically, I got three options. #1 trade the speed in the way it is and take my loss or #2 stock out the speed by swaping parts with someone and have that someone pay for the swapping of the parts from one car to the other car or #3 say facckkkk it and keep the speed and continue to be the most hated ******* on the tm3 forum. Anyway, let me know what you guys think.

Nope. 142,600 kms on them. Rears are complete oem. I have changed the front pads before at 80k kms and it was down to 1 or 1.5 mm left, at my kms now the hawk hps on my front still has over half the pad left. Most of my driving is highway.

Afrs at idle went down to 11.5. Flash new map, Afrs back to 11.7 for a few days then back down to 11.5

Check commanded afr side by side with actual afr, and somehow the car is commanding 11.5

Flash same map again, and it's back to 11.7...

Still all wonky when driving though

Widest tire on a 7.5 rim is a 225 and I want wider.

I've always had 235's on my 7.5" rims and have never had any issues. Looks and feels fine.

I'm going by a widely accepted setup. Most people run 255/40/17 on the 17x9. It works so why not?

Go through the numbers, and consider their effects.

In no particular order, here are somethings to consider:
-215/45 works out to a 96mm sidewall
-225/40 works out to a 90mm sidewall
-255/40 works out to a 102mm sidewall
-255/40 works out to a 89.25mm sidewall

Why is this important?
-if you go lower or even at stock height, with a larger sidewall you will have rubbing issues (from fender to liner)
-although wider wheels/tires will throw off speedometer regardless, this will keep you the closest, relatively speaking (i am sure you can correct with scanguage or AP)
-a larger sidewall will also mean more flex
-17x9 +45 with tire with sidewall that big will rub against your inner liner (mine does with 235/40 occaisonally; has left a line)

EDIT: or we can wait for field marshal fobio to chime in instead of following every other lemming out there

I'm no tire fitment expert and I've ran on the street and at the track what I have readily available to me. Having said that, we're encouraging all our clients to uprate the tires as their MSpeed tunes push the envelope of traction when the power comes on.

The Gen2 is, in general, more forgiving with tire upsizing, as demoonstrated by CelestSpeed3. Hope he'll chime in with more specific numbers. Having said that, I have been toying with the idea of a reverse staggered set-up and wanted to see what I can pull off. I used these tools:

#1 - Tire Size calculator from 1010tires.com. You want to stay within 3% of stock, better @ ~1%.

#2 - Calculating offset. Gen1 were stock 52.5 for reference. Doing this will help you determine how much you're moving things relative to the stock setup or current setup. This is important for clearing the shock on the inside and fender on the outside:

These of course, do not into account, the camber you will be running, which may or may not increase tolerances. Best to compare to stock, measure current clearance, plug in new spec and re-measure. Also, dynamic changes on the road, might make a theoretical flush setup unbearable once you hit bumps.

i forget his tm3 name, but there is a picture of him at auto-x were it is obvious that the load of the car has transferred to one side due to (im no suspension geometry expert) heavy cornering and you could hear him rubbing from quiet afar. his setup is similar more or less (don't remember the specifics), with the exception of bc coils which are stiff (and therefore less body roll), but i guess if all your car ever does is sit pretty for nice pictures or look good going straight down the strip/AP logging, then you have nothing to worry about.../trollin'.

but get whats available to you and im sure with camber/spacers and celest pulling your fender (as he did for justin)....it will 'fit'.

he rubbed at every turn. the wheels are smaller than yours. offset is high 40-50 since its still tucking. you can keep ignoring the obvious that what you want wont work without trouble (and there is nothing wrong with that; already seen on msf that its roll and spacers at minimum), but it isn't ideal (regardless if its your only option). or you can keep throwing out fallacies.

i have 18x9 +45, on 235/40/18 (what came with rims, not my first choice). dropped 1.75 or one fat finger gap all around. i know what works 'ideally' and what requires pulling, rolling. i want to go wider as well, but my thinking is 255/35 maybe more expensive and harder to find than 255/40, but its the right approach vs. rolling/pulling adding camber and all that other nonsense.
