Folks, did you know that apparently, they don't allow tinted front windows in Calgary? Then again, inspector said that they can let that go. Also, the inspector said that they will have to remove the red tint on my taillights because it makes the reverse light look like brake lights and that it involves some liability crap. This sucks! I hate blah blah blah!!!

Typical Toronto police... I'm sure they also made some excuse to checked your file and see if there's anything else they can charge you with. Twice I got pulled over, cops couldn't pin anything on me so they let me go. :chuckle

The towplate is suited for rhd cars where on coming traffic (police) can still see you plate, it's hard to see on the right side sometimes. I've been stopped twice.

OCC - emptied - not much in it - granted only 5000km - was milky compared to normal
FMIC - all piping removed - hairspray and loctite on everything - had some issues hoping this cures them
BPV - quick remove, taken apart and cleaned
RMM/PMM/DMM - all re-torqued to manuf. suggested levels - were all pretty much good
Washed


Busy day, but lots done. Haven't shown the car much love lately.....it was Obie's day.

Also ordered a ton of crap and its started to come in - valve cleaning soon!

The engine serial number is located on the rear of the motor where it mates to the transmission. It it very very hard to read with everything installed on the car.

The vin number is located in many spots, on the sticker in the driver door jam, on the firewall behind the motor and on the lower driverside of the windshield.

It doesn't work that way. One step colder plugs is if the vehicle needs it and the tune is set up for it. Don't install one step colder plugs until you know you need them. There is no piont in wasting money. The NGK's have proven to be a little better then the Denso's, but we are splitting hairs. Plugs should be replaced at least once a year with this engine so please keep that in mind for your maintenance budgets for the year. If you are in doubt of what would work best stock is always the sure bet.

Gotcha! I can definitely see how that happens. I want to keep my pretty simple for now. Just some basic cosmetic and engine mods. If I can afford to keep this car when I purchase our next vehicle, I will definitely get more involved. This car needs to remain a reliable commuter, at least for now.

my mother drives a 2012 lexus rx350, unfortunately about 30 min ago she slid the truck and the front right hit the curb. the alignment is totally off of course, also the front right wheel looks like it has negative camber. i took it over for a ride and i don't hear any noise so i think alignment is off. I'm gonna bring it on the lift tomorrow morning at work. any suggestions as to what i may be dealing with?

The car runs like it did before but I am getting higher numbers for my pressure readings which is good.

I have the CP-e DP ready to go in whenever I have the time to do it. Not sure if anyone is around in the next couple of days (that wants to help put a DP in with me) but I can do it myself just will take some trouble shooting and patience. I also have a CP-e TMIC which is going to go in at the same time :)

Nothing went wrong, just took forever to get off the O2 sensors without stripping them (used tons of PB blaster and a heat gun), then wiggling it into place while under the car took a while. You might not need meth specific hardware...most plumbing hardware should fit, and since you plan to run 50/50 and not pure meth, almost all fittings would be fine if you can find a generic one.

Not straight gasoline, mind you, it almost kind of smells like fuel-diluted oil. Trying to figure out what could be causing this, and it might be just 'normal' for this type of engine. No leaks on the garage floor, no oil consumption, all caps and hoses (visual inspection) appear to be tight. Stage 2 vehicle with OCC, HPFP, TMIC, Cobb BPV that should be set to 100% recirc.

sometimes when i leave it idling for a bit and i get in the car ill smell exactly what u describe coming through the vents. till this day i have no idea what it is but i know how to fix it! buy the febrees vent clip air freshner and it will go away lol it worked for me
