It works well, along with the FFS. just upload your current map and it will throw on FFS and LC.

i use 3200 for my LC so far, but havent had warm enough conditions for it to work without roasting the tires.

Mr Wilson

4th gear 2500 rpm to redline.

Click to start give it a second and then floor it all the way through. Don't lift, try to find as straight and flat a road as possible.

shift 3----->4 and WOT to redline. (sorry, I just want to make sure I understand the details)

okay...I should be getting my hands on an AP soon enough, if all goes well with the job I have lined up.

AND a member is parting out his car, and offered to trade me my OEM exhaust for his TurboXS straight up...I know its not the COBB I'm dying for but I'm stoked to finally get a CBE!!!:thumbsup

Try launching hard with it on and then off (with some wheel spin) and do a hard shift into second before the rpm drops from first (to get it to chirp into second) with it on and off as well and you will understand why it's best to turn dsc off for anything but cruise control highway driving.

why don't you scope out the area first to make sure it's clear before you decide to do a pull.

Just a thought, if people want to share info about where they do their pulls/logs, send a text/PM or something private. We don't want anybody getting into trouble plus this can easily be used as a police tool to track down street racers.

I did...but the ramp that I did it on you cant see traffic coming up behind you, its very resistricted, but you can see out in front of you all the way. It was a one time thing, just wanted to see what I had to do before, during after a pull, I even simulated pressing the AP button as a measure of timing.

I probably wont do any more on the hwy though, I know better places.

you don't have to press the button right before the run... with the old resolution, the AP could log 10 hours worth....let's say 5 hours with the greater logging rate.

so, all you'd really need to do is start the log, go for a few runs, download csv file off AP, open in your favourite spreadsheet program, search for WOT (99.06 was what i searched for)... copy pasta those cells into a new spreadsheet, analyze run(s).

OKAY!! so instead of me having 3 different files, it will all be in one and I cant just c+p each of the separate runs...good to know.

For those who do not understand, consider this an official TM3 administration statement:
Do not post on TM3 about where to log, or how fast you are traveling when you log. If you want to have those discussions, use the pm feature or come to a meet and discuss in person .
Further posts of similar nature will be treated like posts about street racing, they will be deleted, and warnings handed out.

I was reading the mod-path by MSpeed and I am thinking I should replace my spark plugs since #1 I dont know when they were changed last and #2 ive since put 20,000km from day of purchase...so I think I am going to go ahead and change them...doesnt hurt right?

My issue is, and I searched it, I dont know what stage (is that right?) of spark plug I should go with. I know Denso is the brand to go with...I am currently running a COBB SRI, and getting a TIH in the next week (if that makes a difference). If someone could provide a link to a "how to pick spark plugs" page, it would be appreciated.

well if the compression test said that something needed to be done then yes I would fix the problem...I would always fix the problem...but something like changing internals before I know that anything is even wrong with it I wont do...I'm not even at stage 0...so I'm going off the basis that since I'm still stock and *assuming everything is in working order then I wont do the internals before I get the AP to monitor whats actually going on.

But I dont know yet that I have an issue with the internals hence my decision to get the AP before internals...make sense or am I looking at this the wrong way?

Spark plug recommendation is generally made on a rule of thumb basis and in some ways, is a black art. The best way to determine what plug to run is to put the car on the dyno, swap plugs and optimize the tune for each plug to determine which plug combo makes more power.

The overriding rule of thumb is to run the hottest plug you can get away with that maximizes power. Maximizing power takes into account detonation that may arise from running too hot a plug.

Plug selection is highly correlated to combustion chamber temperatures and not necessarily how much power you are making. If you were to have a setup that could make 400whp on E85, I would bet stock heat plugs would be the way to go. However, most people making big power run 2 step colder since they are primarily on pump with a bit of meth.

tl;dr. If you decide to go straight to one step colder plugs now, it wouldn't hold you back. The car will run fine.

I had greased them up this year...in any case, cleaning them up entirely (ie taking them right apart) before regreasing got rid of my creaking problem. However after putting it all back together, on very uneven driveways and such I now have a metal on metal clunk sound when the rear goes over the bump :( Checked and made sure everything was tight but still there. Seems though on just regular roads and even with aggressive cornering there isn't any noise...any ideas?

Ok guys hopefully you can help.. So when I installed the RMM and had it up on jacks I noticed my front driver side dunlop was wearing out on the inside so that leads me to believe my front camber is off most likely due to hitting a pothole recently. The reason I say recently is when the tires went on about a month ago they were all in good condition.

So I had an appointment at Mazda this morning and well they will not do the alignment due to the car being lowered..(That story is for another day). They also said they wouldn't recommend doing the alignment until I replace the front tire.

I am hoping that one of you guys might have an oem set lying around for the 2010's that you are willing to sell one tire (or donate :chuckle) as I don't want to spend the money on a new one because next year all 4 will need to be changed.

The wear on the inside of the tire is most likely due to excessive toe, not camber.

Went to Mazda of Brampton for the alignment. After texting with Paul he's gonna set up an appointment at Maple Mazda for me as he has contacts there.

So, after driving the car one day after an OCC install (with a bunch of WOT pulls) and letting it sit overnight, I check the hoses to the OCC and to the PCV nipple and the intake manifold nipple. Everything looks tight and nothing is leaking.

Both hoses zip tied to a large radiator hose.

Question, it's normal to see some of the black oil crap pooled at the very bottom of the curve in the top hose, right? (the hose which runs from the green PCV nipple down and by the oil filter then back up to the top nozzle on the catch can). In the pic below, the clear hose in the foreground is the hose running from the IM to the bottom nozzle of the OCC, directly in the middle of the pic you can just make out a portion of the top hose with some black crap in it)

you should just create an OCC thread, so that people can post stuff in there as well, instead of just dumping stuff in here

all this information will then get lost in here, and then it's useless

Funny thing is... I literally just saw a smurf blue mini with white accents about 5 mins ago.

The only other thing on my car that will be white is stickers.

The blue and black are the cars main colours. The white is to add contrast to the car.

I installed my rallyarmor flaps this weekend with my summer tires. You know you have wide tires when they are wider then the mudflaps.

I just started reading Abilor's Guide to tuning I am picking up an AP soon so I want to have a bit of education before I jump in head first....is there anything I should know about this before hand? I know its been recommended but is it accurate? valid? are there things that are wrong or controversial?

Just looking for things to be careful for before so I can reference you information/opinion/corrections with that of Abilor's.

Loki, I know you said that there are something in the guide that have changed or not to take quite to literally, could you please re-itterate those?

Please put in any useful info any of you have. (Im off the forum for the night, I'll check tomorrow)

Thanks Fellas, much appreciated. (I didnt think this was thread worthy, if you think otherwise then post so, and I will start one tomorrow)

I agree with Snot.

Read the cobb help file first, cross reference with Abilor's guide, then come back with questions.

My 245 on 8" +42 is the exact width of the rally armors.

I immediately thought "wow, how would celest do with 9" and 255"

Do they look okay still?

I wasn't planning on tuning with that guide, I was just reading through it since I'm new to tuning. I really want to put my AP to use. I'm hopefully picking up a CP-E HPFP in the next week or so once I get payment for a job I just finished.

Read this (http://www.cobbtuning.com/v/vspfiles/files/support/accesstuner/help_guides/AccessTUNER_HelpFile_MAZDASPEED.pdf) cover to cover... its boring as hell but its the place to start.
